25.01.2022 Woopi you beauty @offroad_4x4_adventures

24.01.2022 Well Sam predicted Baby Berry would come on his birthday, and she almost did... Before deciding that yesterday would be her day instead Welcome to the Woopi Fam Charlotte Sending love to the twins Sam and Bec from our hospital bed ... Seems that only legends are born in October

23.01.2022 We finally got to see these legends off on their holiday! Initially held back by Covid and border closures, then unfortunately the car decided it couldn't handle the upgrades Baptiste worked long and hard on But hey, you got there in the end ... After long-standing careers at Costa, you can now enjoy the wide open road and fruits of your labour Pun intended Baptiste we're going to miss seeing your classic catches although with you gone there will actually be more fish in the sea. Maybe even enough for Benn6 to catch Andrea we will miss catching wafts of your delicously sweet smelling hair! And trying to interpret your English when you speak at the same pace as your Spanish The hostel started to see you guys as Mum and Dad, so since your departure, most are running around like naughty little children Drive safe, be good! And we will see you again soon Love your Woopi Fam

23.01.2022 Aloha @doris0718_

20.01.2022 Morning vs night @inastagram___

18.01.2022 Farewell to Scotland's very own BFG! Robbie The one that never intended to stay that long, but that actually stayed a while... Long enough that we had to create a new category of guest to frame for our wall. One that is a bit too rude to share But one that we know his Aunty was very proud of ... You'd think in the time that he spent here, he'd actually get good at farm work. Well, for that to be true, you do have to go to work. Which a lot of the time, he did not Instead he spent his time drinking, smoking, drinking some more, smoking a lot more! Skating and getting hurt skating Then getting a manky elbow infection that really stopped him from working Generally speaking, no work = no money. No money = no food or accommodation. That is until you convince the big boss to give you some odd jobs, and the lady boss to put all of the breakfast bread crusts in your box Survival is also easy when you live off noodles and Bobby's leftovers! Speaking of Bobby, and speaking, who is he going to speak to now!? Bobby the mute and your Asian cuisine obsession aside, we will genuinely miss your obnoxious volume and funny near death hangovers We will not miss the amount of space your tall ass occupies. Afterall, look at the length of him!

18.01.2022 Covid has certainly changed the way the world operates this year and the tourism industry has been one of the hardest hit. Many businesses have had to modify their approach and we are no different. Australia closed its borders to the outside world which meant that the supply of new guests was extremely limited We’ve had to rely heavily on repeat business and returnees, which if you follow our escapades you will notice has worked pretty darn well in our favour ... The family vibe is strong with this lot, everyone is making the most of the non-ideal global pandemic situation and really taking the time to look out for one another There’s a small part of us though that through it all has felt like something was missing The thrill of a new face walking through the door, meeting and befriending a complete stranger and the challenges of trying to understand each other. The kind of thing that sends people travelling abroad in the first place Now the team here at Woopi Backpackers are not one’s to take FOMO lying down, so naturally, we’ve gone above and beyond to fill that void! A brand new face and the future of obnoxious gap year Aussie travellers has been brewing in Em’s belly for 9 months now and is almost ready to make her much anticipated appearance!! They say it takes a village to raise a child, in our case rather it’s been a hostel. A hostel full of incredibly kind, considerate, and inquisitive humans that have gone above and beyond to make the Mum to be’s pregnancy an easier one Whether it’s checking in with a simple how are you feeling, offering to lift something heavy or sharing their food to ensure that Em and baby are always well fed it has been duly noted and very much appreciated Now we’ve written a lot of farewell’s over the years, but never one for our own. To be fair this isn’t really a farewell, more of BRB! Over the next four months Em may not be the face behind reception, but she will be here in spirit and as always, witty social media posts Let’s face it, also probably here in person every week until each guest meets their newborn cuddle quota Considering she’s in charge of the accounts, you’ll no doubt see when bub arrives. Afterall, the only thing cuter than a Backpacker dog might just be a Backpacker baby! Until then, we’ll allow the suspense to consume you all Bye for now Em, good luck!

12.01.2022 To the guest who's gone, but not like, gone gone... To the guest who books out her bed almost a year in advance, 4A2 misses you To the guest who's moved literally just a few meters away, and still comes to the bar every weekend ... To the guest that we don't have to write much about, because we all feel it instead We love you Gabbo And it hurts that you love someone else now more... Jokes... (Not really) But really... We're so happy for you Take good care of our girl please Hugo!

05.01.2022 We're in for a warm weekend Woopi! Remember to use protection

05.01.2022 Bye Sam! Well not Sam Sam, or Sammy, just Sam. Plain old Aussie, one of us, Sam ... It's been a fun few weeks adapting you to Backpacker life, kudos to you for even trying your hand on the farm Let's face it not many of us would And we heard very few complaints... There's quite a few of the crew missing you already, one little lady in photo no.3 especially Never fear, Roisin will be well taken care of until you are reunited again She'll have to pick up her game when it comes to racing Henry along the beach now instead of filming It didn't take long for you to morph into the Woopi Fam. In fact we almost forgot you weren't a Backpacker until your farewell when amongst the dusty bomb cars you got into your schmick Toyota Corolla We have to say though we questioned it again when you disgraced yourself and reversed as they all do the wrong way out of the parking space Any who! We're sure now that your Woopi cherry is popped we'll be seeing you again Take care of yourself until then

04.01.2022 Au revoir to the beautiful Elisa She may not be going far, but it's far enough for us to miss her warm hugs and friendly smile each day Oh and the crepes! Her delicious Nutella crepes she makes and shares on the regular!! ... Once you get past the sweet exterior you'll discover that this lady is hard as nails Not one to turn down any type of work, even giving the flooring game a go for a while She won't hesitate to stand up for what she believes in, especially for herself and those around her - which is really admirable It's easy to trust that she's got your back and genuinely cares when you confide in her We're not saying goodbye because we know we'll see you around... (well we kind of did in French but that doesn't count) Love you and we hope you enjoy your new little home in Arrawarra See you soon

02.01.2022 The beautiful blooms in Grafton @__yuka__aoki

02.01.2022 Farewells are few and far between these days, but some of our sweet Irish lads Colm & Cathal decided they didn’t want to spend a minute longer than they needed to working the farm life And with the weather warming up now especially we can’t say that we blame them, so off to the big smoke they go! You managed to make a great group of friends during your time here, and somehow stay off our radar in terms of juicy stories... ... Judging by your goodbye card though there’s a couple of good ones from Byron, one of you ‘sending it’ and the other always managing to silently sneak off to bed We don’t know who is which but frankly neither did most of the hostel the entire time you were here. You both have very difficult names to pronounce (yes even for us native English speakers) so your identifiers were literally just long or short hair All in all though thanks for being super low maintenance guests and genuinely lovely people Kind and considerate folk like yourselves can be hard to come by, particularly in the midst of a global pandemic, but we are so glad it landed you here Finally, a special thanks from Sam for never stealing our cutleryalthough the turtles probably aren’t so happy with your increased disposable plastic use Best of luck to you both! We trust we’ll be seeing you again at some stage Love from your Woopi Fam

02.01.2022 Yeah not bad for a Tuesday

01.01.2022 Whale hello to you too @rwatkin2456

01.01.2022 If in doubt, paddle out @shintaroooll

01.01.2022 Our favourite scene! Jordan got it good @jordan_goode_photography

01.01.2022 The man, the myth, the legend Tibo has left the building... and we are all a little bit sad about it The Toy Story tune "You got a friend in me" has never been more appropriate than with this one. Everyone's got a friend in Tibo! And he's one of our best We started exactly where we left off with him last year, like many, it was as if he never dogged us for Tasmania ... Momentary abandonment was easily forgiven after your first batch of French crepes Highlights for this stay were definitely when you picked more than Aimi and your #staywoopisafe outfit for our Covid birthday It was at this party that we noticed your coordination on the dance floor as well as the soccer field Shame we didn't get to see them again but your dancing definitely made up for it You promised another visit before you properly leave the country, and you better believe we'll hold you to it Take care in Melbs until then Love your Woopi Fam xx
