25.01.2022 Today 3 groups of 25 children from the Kardinia International school in Geelong attended a Cattle Connnection workshop, as part of the Greener Grass program. The students were inspired by Kerrie and Kimberly, learning all about the basics of animal health and welfare, meat quality aspects and the difference between some of the cuts. They also got to learn about pigs, chooks and dairy cattle as part of the day due to Kerrie's large variety of animals on the farm!

16.01.2022 On the 2nd of May Kerrie hosted 20 year 9 students from Galen College, Wangaratta, as part of the Greener Grass program. This program is all about teaching children about sustainability in agriculture. The children were thrilled to be able to learn about beef production, with Kerrie teaching them about husbandry practices, handling of cattle, and giving them a chance to touch and bond with the animals. Guest speaker Kim Reynolds then provided the group with some different cuts of beef to learn about muscles in the body, the difference between grass-finished beef and grain-finished beef, and how some of the husbandry practices can impact the quality of the beef produced.

16.01.2022 For those who know me, I am finally hosting workshops connecting kids with cattle. The yards are built and the time is right. I was born and bred with cattle on my family property Thologolong, home of the Murray Greys in the Upper Murray of Victoria. I started showing cattle at age 4 and continued into a professional career in Agriculture, specializing in beef cattle breeding. I regularly judge cattle and cattle handling throughout Australia. I have been connecting kids with cattle for many years where the experience builds confidence, encourages respect for animals, and teaches them about animal behaviour. The first workshop will commence in the Easter School holidays...

15.01.2022 It has been brought to my attention, Cattle Connections is beef focused. Partly true but we do have a few Jersey females, that I intend to use in the workshops, as they are quiet and brilliant with the kids. Our love for Jersey started with Charlotte, hand reared by my daughter Rosie 5 years ago. I have also run several dairy school programs with the support of Dairy Australia, these have proven most popular. Dairy Australia believes in educating our kids of today. With all ...cattle, Beef or Dairy the basic fundamentals never change being structure, health, nutrition and cattle handling. Come and experience a fun day with an opportunity to play with both dairy and beef. From this involvement you may choose a career in Agriculture, Veterinary or just discover your passion to work with animals. Kids & Cattle workshop dates: 10th, 11th, 12th April 2017 Any questions call Kerrie 0419 989 077 or [email protected] Rosie and Charlotte

08.01.2022 Thankyou Stud Beef Victoria Cattle Handlers for the most outstanding week of Kids and Cattle. I feel upmost humble and privileged to have led the Junior team with experienced instructors Geoff McInnes, Hannah Hohnberg, Chloe Bowles, Mat Van Huezen. Also thank you to the intermediate participants who assisted us to safely wash, groom and have 37 of our 8-12yrs old kids in the ring for handlers competition. Well done.. The four day camp was led by outstanding people Sue Bollan...d, Daniel Porter, Paul Hourn and committee. I take my hat off too Paul for his passion and commitment supplying 100 Ballot Cattle. Paul literally gave many kids this opportunity to learn and gain skills that have positively changed the lives for these people. The camp was the making of many kids including Rosie who participated for the first time. #studbeefvictoriacattlehandlers See more
