23.01.2022 We are excited to announce that John Payne PGA Professional from Korumburra Golf Club will be running an 8 week Junior MyGolf clinics with us for our beginner golfers known as our Rockets programme and also for those that have already attended earlier clinics or have golf experience we have the Rookies programme. The clinics are sanctioned by Golf Australia and we have been fortunate to once again receive some funding to assist with the costs. So this Friday 12th Feb will be... our first evening commencing at 4pm till 5pm. The subsidised MyGolf Access player cost for the 8 weeks of the clinic is $20 - registration needs to be made online at the MyGolf webpage - here is the link so please just choose Rockets or Rookies https://www.golf.org.au/mygolf/home/. If you know of others who would to come along please share and they can register at the above link.

22.01.2022 So sorry to our Rookies & Rockets MyGolf participants but due to the Covid19 lockdown commencing this evening we are cancelling the clinic for today as John is tied up at his club with having to make arrangements for the shut down etc. Look forward to hopefully catching up next week - fingers crossed. 20.01.2022 Just a reminder that our Junior's Carpet Court Go 4 Golf starts up again tomorrow (Jan 8th) 4.30pm for all levels of junior golf.

17.01.2022 Great first Friday night back for our Carpet Court ‘Go 4 Golf’ event. There were 10 enthusiastic young golfers playing last night - who were encouraged by parents, grandparents and club members as they completed the 4 holes. A number of the juniors using new equipment that arrived as Christmas presents. We are six rounds into the Summer series and have four further rounds to complete. We will be back again next Friday at 4.30pm for any youth U18 who would like to come and have a hit - beginners to experienced all welcome.

15.01.2022 Young golfer Ethan Smith has won the Carpet Court Junior Go 4 Golf Summer Series at Woorayl Golf Club with an average score of 25.50, runner up just over a shot away was Fletcher McLennan who achieved 26.83 for the six rounds. The encouragement award went to Callum Smith. Ethan also during the series achieved his playing handicap and is now looking forward to competition 18 hole events. The last round of Summer Go 4 Golf yesterday evening saw a win to Shem Hickey with 25 ...- his best score for the series by 4 shots with Archie Fixter taking out the nearest the pin on the 8th with a great shot onto the green. Archie 28 and Callum 28 also recorded their best scores for the series. The weekly event held on a Friday evening for ten weeks encouraged all juniors of any ability beginner or experienced to give golf a try. The format of playing 4 holes - with modified rules and adjusted length suited all abilities . Over the Summer it was fabulous to see the juniors improve their skills and enjoying time on the fairways with each other. It was great to have parents, grandparents, friends and members come along to encourage and assist oncourse. Thanks to Carpet Court Leongatha who kindly provided weekly prizes for the event and to Hays Jewellers for the winner’s trophies. Appreciation was also expressed to Michael, Anne Grist and Elly Berryman for their help in running the event. The juniors will continue their golf at Woorayl on a Friday evening at 4pm with John Payne PGA Professional attending for the next few weeks to give coaching instruction. All juniors welcome to come and give golf a go.

01.01.2022 Our Xmas Hamper raffle was drawn this evening after presentations. Over 500 tickets were sold and thanks to all those who purchased tickets. Congratulations to Ty Hogan (ticket 553) who was the lucky winner of the Hamper of goods to the value of $1000.00. 2nd Prize golf bag - Jason Richards (ticket 252)... 3rd prize Bottle of whiskey - Aaron Winkler (ticket 278) 4th prize Slab of beer - Elly Berryman (ticket 140) 5th prize 1 dozen golf balls - Mark Robjant (ticket 307) Thanks to Mark C for all his organising along with Brian & Tom.

A great day with 100 players, making the 48th running of the event the biggest ever. Thanks to the Forrester Family, for their long time contribution to one of the most sought after trophies at the Woorayl Golf Club.
