24.01.2022 That's why it's not the best idea to compare yourself or your business to others. Stay true to your path. You've got this. #businesstips #smallbusiness #australianbusiness #smallbusinesstips #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessadvice #smallbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessau #smallbusinessmelbourne #smallbusinesssydney #smallbusinessadelaide #smallbusinessperth #smallbusinessbrisbane #smallbusinessdarwin #smallbusinessowners #smallbusinessrocks #copywriter #copywriting #copywritingtips #contentmarketing #copywriterlife #contentthatsells #contenttips #contentwriting #writingtips #womeninbusiness #smallbusinesslife #marketing #unmistakablevoices #wordnosh
22.01.2022 Ugh! I know! You've finally put in that last full stop, and all you want to do is press 'Publish'. Must you proofread it? So what if there are a few typos? It's not a big deal. Or is it? Research suggests that the bounce rate on poorly written landing pages is 85% greater than on those with correct spelling and grammar.... 85% Oof! A bigger deal than you thought, huh? Think of what that means for your sales. Not to mention, Google isn't very sympathetic towards sites with high bounce rates. So down the search engine ranking you go. And it's not only websites that feel the heat. Typos in search ads can cost you up to 70% fewer clicks than their proficient counterparts. It all comes down to confidence. When the spelling and grammar of your content are not up to scratch, it signals a lack of credibility. Typographical errors are like rocking up to a job interview in a sloppy outfit. Not exactly a favourable impression. The good news is, a little proofreading works wonders. And yes, a couple of typos may still sneak through. But the more you do to prevent them, the less damage to your brand and bottom line.
22.01.2022 Celebrating Father’s Day in lockdown can be tough. But you can still show your love and appreciation by getting to know more about his story. Try these questions out and add some of your own. And Happy Dad’s Day to all the father figures out there, including my own Thathie . #unconditionallove
19.01.2022 A simple reminder, to start the week. Your brand is never just one thing. It's multi-faceted. Unified: vision (values + intention), voice (story/message + personality elements) and,... visuals (look/feel + identity elements) is the only way to sure up brand recognition across different touchpoints. And don't forget, ALWAYS be consistent. #businesstips #smallbusiness #australianbusiness #smallbusinesstips #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessadvice #smallbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessau #smallbusinessmelbourne #smallbusinesssydney #smallbusinessadelaide #smallbusinessperth #smallbusinessbrisbane #smallbusinessdarwin #smallbusinessowners #smallbusinessrocks #copywriter #copywriting #copywritingtips #contentmarketing #copywriterlife #contentthatsells #contenttips #contentwriting #writingtips #womeninbusiness #smallbusinesslife #marketing #unmistakablevoices #wordnosh
17.01.2022 Hands up, if you've ever been afraid to rock the boat. Perhaps you wanted to share a piece of content that you feared was controversial. Or you worried that doing something different would miss the mark entirely. So rather than take the risk of standing out, you chose to do what everyone else does. Blending in is a safe bet, right?... And hey, I'm not judging. It's only human nature to be risk-averse. Believe me, I've given in to the urge myself. But you know what? That approach is a mistake. When you tone down your unique personality, you become generic. In the business world, you become one more bland brand. Is that what you really want? Unless you started your business to be a carbon copy of another, then you should be trying to stand out. Rather than water down your brand personality and voice (you know, those things that make you unique), let your true flag fly. Be bold, be weird, be different. Drop the mask, change things up. Voice your unpopular opinions. Give your audience a chance to know the real you. Sure you may not be everyone's cup of tea. But that's okay because authenticity always wins. It helps create new, unique content that is instantly more valuable. Plus, people trust and connect with brands they perceive as being genuine. So instead of blending in, let your uncensored voice speak out. Take the risk, get noticed. It's your ticket to success. Not sure how to go about raising your voice? Get in touch and let's get you heard. #businesstips #smallbusiness #australianbusiness #smallbusinesstips #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessadvice #smallbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessau #smallbusinessmelbourne #smallbusinesssydney #smallbusinessadelaide #smallbusinessperth #smallbusinessbrisbane #smallbusinessdarwin #smallbusinessowners #smallbusinessrocks #copywriter #copywriting #freelancers #contentmarketing #copywriterlife #contentthatsells #contenttips #contentwriting #writingtips #entrepreneurs #smallbusinesslife #marketing #unmistakablevoices #wordnosh
17.01.2022 It's been a while since I've posted. I got so caught up in working at full steam that I kind of forgot to take care of myself. Long story short, I came close to burning out, and my mental health took a nosedive. So, it was time to throttle back and afford me a little more headspace. When you're running a business, giving a 110% every day, it's easy to fall prey to your own exacting standards. To counterbalance the stress and fatigue, you need to value yourself. We all know th...is, intuitively. But in the day-to-day humdrum, it can quickly descend to the bottom of the priority list. Something you put off till things quieten down, or you have more time. 'More time' however, is elusive. Rather than wait for it to appear, take it. Commit to your wellbeing. As long as you are emotionally and mentally healthy, you can sort out the rest. It's easier said than done. Believe me, I know. But the alternative to self-care is eventual burnout. And that is a tragedy we should all try to avoid. Have a fabulous week, and know you're amazing!
17.01.2022 Sorry Elsa, but the cold kind of bothered me.
16.01.2022 As a perfectionist, I've always feared failure. To me, falling short of my goals meant a lack of self-worth. A few years ago, someone asked me, "is it really so bad if you don't succeed?". My answer was a resounding "yes, absolutely, it's not an option". But I'm a little older (eek) and wiser (I hope) now. I've learnt (actually still learning), to see failure as temporary setbacks. Detours, not the end of the road. Stuff happens. Things don't always go to plan. And while it's... easy to lament the situation, it's more productive to take stock and appreciate what did work. You may not see it immediately, but there's always a silver lining. More often than not, it's a learning experience. Every successful person out there has had their fair share of disasters. If you ask them, they will tell you that those moments provided invaluable lessons. And that is something to be grateful for. Whatever misfortune comes your way, be thankful for the gains that came with it. And yes, there are gains. Perhaps you made a new friend or business partner. Maybe a fresh idea sparked or you've grown as a person. At the very least, you know now what doesn't work. I know it's not always easy. But believe me - gratitude is heaps better than beating yourself up. #businesstips #smallbusiness #australianbusiness #smallbusinesstips #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessadvice #smallbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessau #smallbusinessmelbourne #smallbusinesssydney #smallbusinessadelaide #smallbusinessperth #smallbusinessbrisbane #smallbusinessdarwin #smallbusinessowners #smallbusinessrocks #copywriter #copywriting #copywritingtips #contentmarketing #copywriterlife #contentthatsells #contenttips #contentwriting #writingtips #womeninbusiness #smallbusinesslife #marketing #unmistakablevoices #wordnosh
14.01.2022 I'll admit, I can be impatient at times. Sometimes I just want instantaneous results. So when I stumbled on this quote, it struck deep. It's something we all know but, a reminder now and again helps. Good things take time to blossom . Have you planted a seed recently? Is it taking longer than expected to sprout?... Don't lose patience or motivation. After all, in the process of waiting and nurturing the sapling into maturity, we too grow. Hard work is never wasted. #smallbusiness #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessaustralia #melbournesmallbusiness #smallbusinessmelbourne #sydneysmallbusiness #smallbusinesssydney #hobartsmallbusiness #darwinsmallbusiness #adelaidesmallbusiness #perthsmallbusiness #entrepreneur #solopreneur #startup #girlboss #womeninbusiness #bosslady #smallbusinessowner #melbournecopywriter #smallbusinesscopywriter #affordablecopywriter #marketing #contentmarketing #website #storytelling #blogs #wordsmatter #beheard #wordsthatsell #wordnosh
14.01.2022 With warmer weather on the horizon, the quest for a thirst-quencher will soon be underway. Cue this boutique contender, who's all about clean hydration that doesn't skimp on natural yumminess. POL Sparkling Coconut Water Admit it, you're already excited. ... Lead by a husband and wife team, @thepollife started out as a healthy alternative to soft-drink. In fact, they were among the first to add fizz to fresh coconut water. But they didn't stop there. Today, POL comes in a range of fruity flavours (all-natural, of course) that doesn't overpower the coconut taste. And with no added sugar, it remains a pure source of refreshment. I have the pleasure of contributing to POL's social media content. And what I love about the brand is its bubbly, wholesome personality. It reminds us of the beauty in simple pleasures. A walk in the sunshine. The sweetness of a tropical breeze. A serene moment of quiet escape and the warmth of your family. So, next time you're looking to pop open a quencher with a generous dash of the feel-goods, get your hands on POL. Available in speciality stores or at www.pol.life - say cheers to those happy coconut vibes. #thepollife #coconutliving #smallbusiness #australianbusiness #smallbusinesstips #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessadvice #smallbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessau #smallbusinessmelbourne #smallbusinesssydney #smallbusinessadelaide #smallbusinessperth #smallbusinessbrisbane #smallbusinessdarwin #smallbusinessowners #smallbusinessrocks #copywriter #copywriting #contentmarketing #copywriterlife #contentthatsells #contenttips #contentwriting #writingtips #womeninbusiness #smallbusinesslife #marketing #unmistakablevoices #wordnosh

13.01.2022 Brevity is always appreciated, but that doesn't help when you have a lot to say. Your audience and platform influence content length. Just be sure to also consider your product. Generally speaking, the lower the price point and the more common the item, the less copy you need for conversion. Conversely, higher-priced and unique or unusual products will require lengthier content. For example, consider a convenience item with a low cost, like a candy bar. Widely available and b...ought regularly (too regularly, in my case ) you don't need extensive copy to promote its benefits. Buyers know it well, and it's purchased with little thought. On the other hand, a luxury item, particularly one that is unknown to the market (like a new tech gadget), needs more of a hard sell. You will have to describe the benefits in detail to garner sales. Plus, at a higher price, consumers want to know the drop in their bank balance is worthwhile. At the end of the day, there's no pre-defined ideal. Just remember, don't be short for short's sake. And never waffle on purely for length. #smallbusiness #contentmarketing #contentwriting

08.01.2022 Today is International Literacy Day. The last decade saw positive improvements to literacy rates. Yet an estimated 773 million adults worldwide still lack basic reading and writing skills. To make matter worse, COVID-19 has put a detrimental halt on many global programs. It may seem like a secondary problem. But it's important to recall that literacy is the first step towards greater social and economic freedom.... Something well worth remembering, don't you think? #internationalliteracyday #education #smallbusiness #australianbusiness #smallbusinesstips #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessadvice #smallbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessau #smallbusinessmelbourne #smallbusinesssydney #smallbusinessadelaide #smallbusinessperth #smallbusinessbrisbane #smallbusinessdarwin #smallbusinessowners #smallbusinessrocks #copywriter #copywriting #contentmarketing #copywriterlife #contentwriting #womeninbusiness #smallbusinesslife #marketing #unmistakablevoices #wordnosh
06.01.2022 Everyone wants to be on the first page of Google. Ranking high on a search engine results page (SERP) can definitely trigger more visitors to your website. Hence the buzz around terms such as SEO, keywords, algorithms, NAPs, crawlers, alt text, meta descriptions...you get the idea. But in the race to the top, you can forget the most important aspect of all: YOUR AUDIENCE. While you may take out the first spot on a SERP, it's going to be pointless if you can't convert traffic ...into actual customers. That's why it's crucial to balance the technical elements of search engine optimisation (SEO) with good, old-fashioned readability. And hey, this isn't just my opinion. It's what Google wants too. Why? Because Google's aim is to satisfy its own customers. No, not the companies that buy ads on the platform. The average Joe, people like you and me, who's continued use of the search engine keeps it in business. This means that Google wants content that delivers value, doesn't chase away users as soon at they click on a results link and provides the answers they are looking for. And you know what that brings us back to? Writing that keeps readers engrossed because it speaks to them, is highly readable and offers solutions based on their intent. Avoid the temptation of sacrificing the quality and readability of your content, for the sake of a higher ranking. Balance SEO elements with an audience-centric approach. Being people-focused will give your business better results than targeting those search engine bots. Humans, after all, are more desirable as customers. #smallbusiness #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessaustralia #melbournesmallbusiness #smallbusinessmelbourne #sydneysmallbusiness #smallbusinesssydney #hobartsmallbusiness #darwinsmallbusiness #adelaidesmallbusiness #perthsmallbusiness #entrepreneur #solopreneur #startup #girlboss #womeninbusiness #bosslady #smallbusinessowner #melbournecopywriter #smallbusinesscopywriter #affordablecopywriter #marketing #contentmarketing #website #storytelling #blogs #wordsmatter #beheard #wordsthatsell #wordnosh
01.01.2022 There's no two ways about it. You must demonstrate value. Use your copy to showcase everything that you provide. Talk to customers about benefits (not only features). How does your product make their lives easier? What does your service free them from? Does it make them better, or help win them acclaim? The more value you present, the less your customers will question price. Why? Because your product's worth will be obvious.... Make an offer consumers can't refuse.
