25.01.2022 A huge thank you to our local Woolworths in Cannonvale, Mackay and Bowen who are facilitating this early opening time (7am to 8am) as of tomorrow morning until Friday to assist with elderly and disability customers to access essential items needed in a less crowded environment.

24.01.2022 There's a lot of misconception out there at the moment about how flexible NDIS funding is and what items can be purchased for Assistive Technology through your NDIS plan. The NDIS has very specific guidelines in place around these purchases. Presently we are seeing a high request for iPads and tablets, without knowing the limitations in place. Below is a snapshot taken directly from the NDIS website, but we recommend you please read the information available at ndis.gov.au on 'Using your budget.'

We better learnt how to identify those experiencing thoughts of suicide, how to talk to them correctly and how to link them with professional help. What an amazing, free campaign! If you have a passion and desire to assist people living with a disability we would like to hear from you. Experience and/or qualification in the area of Disabilities is highly regarded. Successful applicants will be required to have flexibility for shifts which will include... daytime, evenings, weekends and, on occassion, sleep shifts. Role/Responsibilities: To provide high quality assistance to our clients with high and complex needs, by providing in-home support (such as personal care, domestic duties and community access etc) and other activities as set out in individual support plans. Qualifications, Certificates and Licences: Possession of a current First Aid Certificate & CPR is essential; Current Police Clearance (or ability to obtain one) is essential; Possession of a current and valid Manual Drivers Licence is essential; Current Blue Card & Yellow Card or eligible to apply for one and Qualification in Disability Services and/or Community Services is highly desirable. Key Selection Criteria: Knowledge of and experience of in-home support in the community highly desirable. Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with disabilities. Knowledge and understanding of effective communication and documentation.
