19.01.2022 WorkCover Queensland is proud to be part of the Transport Industry Mental Health Initiative (TIMHI). A collaboration between Industry groups, Unions, and other stakeholders dedicated to normalising, supporting and the promotion of positive mental health in the transport industry. As part of this initiative, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Steering Healthy Minds website. With mental health issues on the rise, it is vital to provide early support in the workplace, especially in response to a traumatic event or concern. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the support offered to a person experiencing a mental health concern until professional help is available or the concern resolves. 10.01.2022 Thank you Rachael Sarra Creative for creating this amazing piece of indigenous artwork which hangs proudly in our office. This piece tells the story of a support system for workers and employers. Like cells in our bodies, following injury and illness, they provide structure and support during the rehabilitation process. Built on a platform of strong, authentic relationships, we are focused on expanding our existing relationships to create a broader range of genuine and divers...e connections with communities throughout Queensland. Through a strong sense of purpose, we continue to be the cells that connect and support people. With each new relationship, the cells of the network rebuild and grow, creating even stronger links throughout Queensland. 01.01.2022 Many thanks to Acting Sergeant Shona Fahrenhorst of the Queensland Police Service, Crime Prevention Unit who took the time to present a series of personal safety sessions to help our people stay safe as we're gradually transitioning back to the office after working from home for the past few months. These sessions were presented following social distancing guidelines and live-streamed for those working remotely. They were a great refresher for us to be mindful of our surroundings whether we were at work, out with friends or at home. For more information on how you can organise personal safety sessions for your workplace visit https://www.police.qld.gov.au/safety-and-preventing-crime
