18.01.2022 This group of Year 9 students from Wodonga Middle Years College had the opportunity to engage with health practitioners and explore health careers in a Health Taster Day at Gateway Health Wodonga last week. Students heard from various practitioners including podiatrists, sexual health officers, a refugee community development worker, a physiotherapist, speech pathologists, an occupational therapist, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) staff, aged care workers and ...the school’s wellbeing coordinator. The students engaged in a panel discussion with the health professionals, went through a case study, listened to a talk by a health promotion practitioner and rotated through hands-on activities with the allied health professionals. Our Workforce Development Project team thanks staff from Charles Sturt University, DHHS, Gateway Health and Westmont Aged Care Services who gave their time and expertise. 15.01.2022 Congratulations to our Workforce Development Project colleague Julie Aldous on being appointed to the new National Agricultural Labour Advisory Committee. The 11-member advisory committee will develop the National Agricultural Workforce Strategy, which will investigate ways to ensure a sustainable future workforce for the sector and report to the Federal Government by July 2020. https://minister.agriculture.gov.au//ag-labour-advisory-co
