25.01.2022 So much to unpack from the 20/21 Federal budget! Especially one that focusses heavily on business expansion and job growth. Did you know that the budget included a 1.5bn manufacturing strategy? Split into three stages, the first of which encourages new investment through funding programs, co-investment and grants. The aim is to create a business environment to support a higher-skilled workforce in manufacturing and support business growth. Our national network stays on top o...f such government initiatives, informing you and ensuring that we have the right people, with the right skills, to enable you to make the most of the opportunities. 25.01.2022 As our network continues to grow and grow stronger, @amandaserra talks with our newest owner-operator @Chriscoffey @workforceXS Dandenong about his first month of operation. http://ow.ly/k0xo50B35pa

24.01.2022 Our focus this week is on WorkforceXS Healthcare Offices, who in this current environment are the busiest they've ever been. For this #TechTuesday, we'll look at the technologies they've implemented systems they've created to manage the changing environment. "With the demand for nurses, carers and allied workers mounting, we're meeting with a whole new pool of candidates", says Lina Atkinson from the network's Lakewood Health office, "the candidates have diverse backgrounds, ...many of whom are from the hospitality sector". "With Stage 4 restrictions in place [in Melbourne], we've needed to revise how we interview, as travelling 5km from home for a job interview falls into a grey area within the restrictions. We're using video calls for interviews and for working through COVID Inductions. However, nuances would be missed if we used video alone, to ensure we are talking to the right candidates we augment the process by organising several phone calls. We are using Workpro to manage some aspects of onboarding, and we are using FlareHR software to manage the compliance basics. Within the team, we've looked to our unique strengths, we've each taken on new challenges, and we've each grown, it's been a learning curve, but I am proud of the way that we've banded together". 23.01.2022 There isn't a sector untouched by changes to OH&S in the age of COVID, and the Healthcare sector has undoubtedly gone to a whole new level where newly introduced OH&S procedures are vital in stopping the spread and keeping staff, residents, clients and patients protected. Our four healthcare offices, WorkforceXS Sunshine Health Workforce XS Strathfield Health Workforce XS Nowra & Wollongong and WorkforceXS Lakewood Health have been working very closely with our in house lawy...er Matthew Lewis to ensure they are following best in class procedures and practices. "Working closely with Matt has been invaluable for our office", says Lakewood Health's Managing Director, Neil Adams. "Matt has facilitated and connected us with industry and risk experts so we can be certain that we are following best practice to protect staff, clients and the people they care for." See more

22.01.2022 Daniel Andrews certainly knows how to build anticipation! This Sunday once again Melbournians, particularly Melbourne businesses, will be listening attentively as Mr Andrews announces the removal of another layer of restrictions. One layer that will remain after the announcement is a layer of confusion, "so what exactly does this mean for my business?" We recommend getting in touch with your local WorkforceXS office as soon as possible. Each office across Australia, particul...arly our offices in Metro Melbourne and Regional Victoria, has remained current with public and workplace health advice. They are working with clients on the Six Things That All Businesses Should Fix To Keep COVID-Safe and keeping all employees and businesses safe with the WorkforceXS COVID Check-list. We've provided a link in the comments section below to assist you in getting started. We expect that as the restrictions lift your business will rebound quickly, and we have the right people to support your unique road to recovery.

21.01.2022 Great to see the Federal Government putting funds behind the on-shoring of recycling and updating laws to cover 'product stewardship'. The Federal Government has committed $190m towards new recycling infrastructure, with funds expected to be matched by the states. The "recycling modernisation fund" will help build the infrastructure Australia needs to sort rubbish - reducing contamination and increasing the option for the waste to be made into useful products. Estimates from... the government suggest that this will help divert 10,000 tonnes of plastic, paper and glass waste from landfill and create a wide variety of employment opportunities within the waste and recycling sector. The government is also supporting manufacturers, as they change laws around 'product stewardship'. They have promised a $20m fund to help businesses take greater responsibility for products across their lifespan. The intention is to ensure manufacturers and retailers take responsibility for the products they sell once they become waste. At Workforce Extensions National Office, we value investments that deliver industry and employment growth. This government investment ticks boxes for the environment and for a burgeoning industry in Australia.

20.01.2022 Today, Scott Morrison announced that Jobseekers now have to apply for 8 jobs in the month instead of 4. For employers wanting to engage new staff, that means twice as many applicants. Even before the PM's announcement, the volume of applicants has been significantly high. Our highly experienced network of locally owned recruitment offices has been putting our practised systems and technology to work to find the right candidate quickly and keep business moving.

19.01.2022 We are delighted to announce the commencement of our newest and most remote Workforce Extensions office; WorkforceXS - Hedland. Owner-operators Laurie Todd and Vicki Kirk, are highly experienced in recruitment, vehement about obtaining qualified and competent people for their clients. As proud Aboriginal people from Pilbara and Goldfields region of Western Australia, they are passionate practitioners who have a focus on creating positive Aboriginal role models and mentors to bring about change towards stereotypes. Due to Victorian border restrictions, we were unable to welcome them in person; however, we welcome you both to the national network of Workforce Extensions and wish you, your clients and the communities you support every success.

Amaya brings a wealth of IT systems and support experience to our network, improving and streamline our IT support process to each of our owner-operated offices nation-wide.

15.01.2022 The acronym CEO has two applications in the modern workplace, and perhaps the most fitting for 2020 is Chief Empathy Officer. At @WorkforceExtensions, we have over 20 CEOs! You see, each office is locally owned. Each owner is the Chief Executive and Chief Empathy Officer. Being local, they are empathic and sharing in the experience; they understand the realities of their clients, their candidates and their own staff. Every person, business, suburb, city, region has its own se...t of battles, not just in 2020 but in any given year. Local means the sincerity is genuine; the questions are 'bang on', and listening is attentive. As recruiters, our CEOs might not be able to solve it all; however, they can be part of the solution. Ultimately, in recruitment, empathy doesn't deliver outcomes. It doesn't grow business or provide employment. The focus still needs to be on our actions and results, and sometimes this can mean redefining productivity or setting achievable goals, for both ourselves, our staff and our clients.

11.01.2022 With the high volume of applicants that are coming through each office at the moment, we asked the owners-operators how they manage to work through the applications. Although this is #techtuesday, it must be said that nothing beats experience to place the right person in the right role, and this is something each office has in spades. Nevertheless, technology is playing a significant role. Offices are using an enterprise-level software to advertise, attract and filter appropriate candidates, plus now many offices are using FlareHR software to improve on their efficiently; reducing the need to print, scan, manually process forms plus respond to candidates. @workforcexs invests in technology for our network, to improve their efficiency so they can better serve clients.

10.01.2022 The recruitment industry certainly has had its fair share of blows as presented in @Greg Savages article " Recruitment smashed! Recovery underway. The facts". Interestingly the data shared in the article mirror the data from our national network of recruitment operators. Also reflected is the optimism, 2020 has been a year of growth for our network, as highly experienced and passionate people from the industry have opted to carve out their own road to recovery, supporting business and industry by taking control of their own, nationally backed, yet independent WorkforceXS office. Greg, thank you for sharing your research, insights and most importantly, spreading your confidence for the future. http://ow.ly/KvF850Blk1w

08.01.2022 WorkforceXS strives to empower each independently owned office with the best tech tools to aid in their growth. Recently the National Office held a webinar to work through best practice for Social Media. WorkforceXS Marketing Manager @amanda serra, a former lecturer in Marketing at RMIT, provided the network with a holistic overview of social media; from the purpose and place within the customer journey, planning, content development, design and implementation. The webinar also introduced the network to readily available tools to enable each office to put the knowledge into practice.

07.01.2022 We are always looking at ways to improve our offer to our franchised offices and to improve their office efficiency. Our IT team has been working and testing the RateCalc software, a calculation and quotation software, with some of the WFXS offices. Mitigating the risk of human error when quoting is benefit enough, the @workforceXS configuration will also have margins, client rates, industrial and awards updates embedded. "We want to empower offices to deliver client quotes in seconds, reduce the time spent quoting moreover enable offices to provide clients with prompt service," said Lucy McTiernan @workforceXS IT Manager. The team are currently finalising the configuration of the system and hope to commence a full roll-out and training over the next month.

06.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day We want to shout out to our own @david horn, Network Development Manager for the network. When Victoria went back into lockdown, Dave was concerned about the mental welfare of our Victorian offices; he wanted to ensure they stayed connected, to the national office and each other. The group has shared their frustrations, successes and their efforts to stay healthy. Yesterday the group rallied around the view that in this economic holding pattern they 'just need to be there for others' - people in their lives and their clients. A generosity of spirit which is a big part of the R U OK? Day.

06.01.2022 Last week our first round of owner-operated offices received initial training on @ratescalc.com software. Here are the top 3 benefits our offices identified in using RatesCalc in their businesses. Elimination of human error when quoting. "We prepare and send quotes to clients across numerous sectors, #construction to #adminstaff, it's an invaluable feature that ratescalc has the various award and EBA rates embedded", says @Debbie Carr @workforcexs Brisbane Protected. "Having ...the correct super, payroll tax, WIC's and administration rates automated within Ratescalc, protects us, our clients and our staff," says Laurie Carrigan @workforcexs Tamworth. Speed. "A core value of our network is prompt service to clients - we have The Right People at The Right Time... and RatesCalc helps our offices to deliver this promise to their clients", say Lucy McTiernan, IT and Project Manager. On Tech Tuesday we highlight the technologies we employ to improve the efficiencies of all our locally owned and operated recruitment and labour-hire offices. See more

06.01.2022 On Sunday 6th of September, every Victorian will be tuning in to hear @Daniel Andrews announce the roadmap to ease Victoria out of the current restrictions. One certainty is that the government will want to protect regional Victoria's low case numbers, disappointing news for Melbourne families hoping to get out of town for the school holidays, however, what is the impact for workers commuting into Melbourne from regional areas? "Since the pandemic began, we are noticing a gre...ater focus from candidates regarding finding local work and getting away from their daily commute to Melbourne, says @workforce xs Geelong Managing Director Justin Thompson. "It's always been a topic of conversation - work/life balance vs career opportunities in the city, and it's become a greater consideration since the pandemic started", echoed @luke Henderson owner-operator of WorkforceXS Traralgon. Both agreed, previously the attraction of more money and opportunity has dragged many people away from regional hubs, now they seem to be rethinking this, realising that there's still opportunity closer to home. 06.01.2022 We have "cause for optimism... although we're not there yet", said Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews at yesterdays press conference. There certainly is cause for optimism for the over 125,000 workers that will go back to work this week and for businesses able to ramp up, even if it is not at full capacity. Our recruitment and labour-hire offices, particularly in Melbourne and Victoria, have stayed on top of the 'shifting sand' of regulations for businesses and workers. If you need a partner to work with you as you open up, contact your locally owned @workforcexs office today, and they'll guide you through opening up safely and as quickly as possible.

05.01.2022 Our Victorian Offices are highly knowledgable regarding COVID restrictions across various industries. They are currently working around the clock to support their clients, including assisting in the development of COVID safe plans - United Against COVID. Tenure matters during difficult times, that's why clients are turning to us for recruitment and labour-hire. When Victorian enterprises can regenerate once again, WorkforceXS will be here as we have been since 1997, ready to mobilise a workforce to get businesses operating at strength once again. We know these weeks will be difficult for you Victoria, we're here for you during restrictions and after - whenever you need us.

05.01.2022 As Victoria regresses into Stage 3 restrictions and Melbourne businesses slide into stage 4, as of 11.59 pm tonight, our Victorian offices are prepared. Prepared with expert knowledge of allowances under stage 3/4, prepared with reliable knowledge on COVID Safe Plans, and most of all, prepared to stand alongside their clients as all Victorian's 'batten down the hatches'. When Victoria can regenerate WorkforceXS will be here, as we have been since 1997. WorkforceXS clients will want to move quickly to make up for time lost, and lost production. WorkforceXS will be on the other side, ready to mobilise people and resources. The value of being a national and fully supported network of owner-operated offices has never been higher.

03.01.2022 Did you know Health care is one of Australia’s largest occupational groups, directly employing almost 1.2 million people? This demand is only going to increase with our ageing population and high population growth. In a great article from Hospital & Healthcare, the link is in the comments section; they explore crucial issues facing the industry, including the imbalance in employment opportunities and job seekers.

01.01.2022 WorkforceXS National Office has made a dedicated effort to staying connected and staying healthy - mentally & physically - while we've been working from home. Once a week our team can be seen walking around our various neighbourhoods on our weekly 'catch-up' call, we dedicate the time to talk about how we're feeling and what we've got on for the week. It's a small gesture; however, the longer Victoria stays in lock-down, the more valuable this call has become and with video conferencing it's great to see familiar faces that don't live in the same house. Stay safe and stay connected.
