25.01.2022 So Kaufland finally realized the cost of doing business in Australia is way too high compared to anywhere else in the world. No politician will ever say that but they know the truth. The result is that more and more businesses will shut down. https://7news.com.au//kaufland-to-leave-australia-leaving-
24.01.2022 5 basic steps for building a Marketing strategy (I will put in 1 Step everyday) Whether you are starting a small business or beginning your career as a marketer, you have probably figured out by now that the way you showcase your brand or product will either capture your audience or send them away. Starting to present your brand or the product is tricky, that’s why you need a killer marketing strategy to start, otherwise; you are shooting blind arrows in the air.... Establishing a thorough and detailed marketing strategy will help put your business on a road-map towards success. You can not reach your destination without following specific directions. These directions will ultimately guide you through a safer route and towards more accurate results. So, let’s start building your marketing strategy step by step from scratch. Step - 1: Access Your Current Position Any company or business offering a product and service should be fully aware of the strengths and weaknesses of what they are offering. Benchmarks will help you take advantage of uncharted territories in the market, as well as better understanding your weaknesses. Pre-launch It is beneficial to build a market overview as well as an STP (Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning). This will guide you into launching your product or service in the market with more confidence and understanding of its niche. Post-launch You will need a situational analysis. In order to properly assess your product or service, begin by writing down your best and worst features. After that, run a competitor analysis in which you list your best and worst features against competitors to understand where you stand in the market How do you actually do that? Well, for instance, the bags you offer are made from the highest quality materials, but they are more expensive when bench-marked with competitors. In this case, you have attained the strengths (high-quality materials) and weaknesses (higher price) of the product in question. This enables you to further move on to highlighting the strengths in your marketing strategy and using them to attract the right clients. Not everyone is going to want to spend that extra buck or two to get the best quality but there are people who do. That’s why after zeroing in on your statement features, you need to focus on who will be interested in those features. Step - 2: Reaching the Right Audience (Coming up tomorrow) Let me know your thoughts and comments. If you like the content, then don't forget to Like and Share.
22.01.2022 Franchiser's like Nandos have no shame. The blame also goes to the Australian government for not giving adequate protections to the Franchisees. Couple of days back I went to our local shopping centre only to find out that 90% of the businesses are Franchisees. It is shocking and scary at the same time. With shop rents from $10k to $25K per month, I am absolutely sure that either everyone would be struggling to break even let alone making profit. Franchisers should not be all...owed to do renovations within the first 5 years, every franchisee should be allowed to spend on their own marketing as well. I would strongly urge all the Nandos franchisees to collectively put pressure on Nandos to make the changes or sell it back to them just like some have and recover your hard earned money. Anyone who is looking to invest in a Franchisee, please have a chat with me.

20.01.2022 You Don't Need Funnels, You Need Campaigns Do you know why your website is not getting you customers? If you have a static website or a website that asks visitors to give their name, email and other details, then you need to change your website. Prospects do not like to provide their details as they have a fear of getting bombarded later with emails. So what is a campaign and how do you setup one, read my blog article to find it out. Would love to hear your comments and don'...t forget to give it a like and share with business owners who can learn from this too. http://workforprofits.com.au/you-dont-need-funnels-you-nee/

18.01.2022 Uber Eats should lower down their commissions to 15%. I still think that we as people need to stop ordering online. It's better to go and enjoy your food fresh.
16.01.2022 So sad to see another Australian franchise closing doors due to the disconnect between Franchisors and Franchises. We already know how hard it for businesses paying 30% commission to online ordering companies loke Uber Eats, but for the Franchisors to charge 20% on top is plain and simple greed. I feel for the Franchises but the biggest worry is that the Australian goverment, thr opposition and the ACCC is allowing all this to happen.... Who is responsible for people who lost their jobs? I urge the politicians and ACCC to step in and change Franchise rules for the benefit of Franchises.
15.01.2022 Small Business Marketing Strategies that your competitors aren't using...learnt from my mentor Before you commit to any marketing in your business, ensure that ...you get the strategy right. 1. Tactics vs Strategy - One of the biggest mistake I often see is that a business will make a Tactical decision of marketing on let's say Social Media, so what do they do, they go and create accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube etc. In the first few days they post on 1 or maybe all and mostly it is about their business, their product or their service. After a week or so the Postings fall down to once a week and then once a month as they struggle to find content to post. Who's been there? You know why that happens? Because you did not plan a strategy around your Social Media Marketing. So ensure that you have a clear strategy on what you want to offer as valuable information, step-by-step instructions, product demo videos, client testimonials, Problem and solution articles or videos etc... 2. Lack of database - I cannot stress more on the importance of creating a list or database of anyone who either comes in your store or your website or your social media or calls you or emails you or even if someone gives you a business card. GET THEIR INFORMATION and then go back to your office or shop and engage or send them an offer or free information link on your social media or website. "Get Them Inside Your Funnel", build your list, find out and record as much as you can about their likes and dislikes, date of birth, kids, pets, AFL and NRL Teams and so on. THEN use this data to create customer segments and have marketing strategies around these segment interests. 3. TRACK, TRACK, TRACK - When someone comes inside your funnel and starts engaging with your content that you have posted in any of your channels, TRACK THEM and give them a score also called Lead Score. The more they engage the higher the LEAD SCORE. Then on a pre-determined score (50 or 100), hit them with an Offer. Because by now they have consumed your valuable data, they know you, they like your information and they are highly likely or ready to buy. This is the only way to track your ROAI (Return of Advertising Investment) 4. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS - People buy from people they trust. Most businesses have lost the art of building relationships, taking to their customers, offering free advise, hand written thank you card etc. Another way of building relationships is to give something when they are not expecting. For example if you are a restaurant, offer a piece of cake or dessert sampler even if they did not ask for it. If you are a cafe, give couple of small cookies with the coffee or a small chocolate. The word of mouth this generates is phenomenal. 5. GET TESTIMONIALS - If you have a a great product or delivering extraordinary service, and your client is happy, then it is a must that you get a testimonial preferably either on Facebook Recommendation or on Video or both. Even if you have to give them a discount. A testimonial or word of mouth goes a long way in getting more business. Then use the testimonials in all your marketing. There are lots of other strategies that I will post in future posts. If you like what you read and know of someone who might benefit from these strategies in their business, then please go ahead and share and don't forget to like and comment. I would love to hear your thoughts.
10.01.2022 5 basic steps for building a Marketing strategy (continued...) Step - 2: Reaching the right audience Basically understanding your target audience.... For your marketing content to work, it needs to be tailored to the right people. Depending on the type of product or service you are offering, the type of person more likely to be interested in you will be different. When you find out that type of person and customize your content to fit them, your content will be more focused and effective; therefore, bringing you better results. You can start segmenting your audience into your marketing strategy by asking questions like: Who are they? What do they do? Which need motivates them to buy? What is their purchase journey like? Where or how do they shop (online or offline)? When do they look for my product\service? How do they qualify their product\service provider? This will assist you in facilitating any hardships that face your clients while they are attempting to purchase your product or service. Great marketers see potential customers as real people. They create campaigns that appeal to their, wants, needs and desires. Stacey Kehoe In collecting your data, you can use analytics websites, social media channels, customer reviews or real-life surveying and interviewing of potential customers. What happens if you don’t do the work? You don’t want to be putting all your efforts into selling $500 bags to someone who can only afford $200 bags. What’s next? You should then categorize your data into profiles that are called buyer personas. Step - 3: Who am I? (Read it tomorrow...) 08.01.2022 5 basic steps for building a Marketing strategy (continued...) Step - 3 : Who Am I? Brand... In order to start speaking to your audience, you need a consistent and engaging brand and voice. In coming up with your brand’s shape, you need to keep in mind that it is an investment; therefore, your choices should be measured, tested and precisely thought out. Don’t fall for that mistake! Your brand name should not be built on a specific trend because trends wear off and you are left stuck with a name from 2005. Likewise, your brand logo should be clear and catchy. Your brand elements like name, logo, colors used, slogan and tagline should all be compatible with each other; that gives your brand a strong and professional presence. Voice Your brand voice is the way you speak as well as the style and tone of your communication with your customers. It is basically your brand’s personality which builds the relationship with your audience. Don’t freak out yet, it’s easy! In defining your brand’s voice, start by labeling it with three adjectives. We determine these three adjectives based on listening to our potential clients and the way they communicate in their day to day life. For instance, our bag brand is sophisticated, bold, edgy. What do you think? By having insight into our buyer persona (Megan), we now understand how to answer her inquiries, have some fun banter with her and showcase our latest products to her in the most attractive fashion. Don't forget to give me a Like and share it with someone who also might find this useful. Step - 4: You can’t have a marketing strategy without goals (coming up tomorrow...)
04.01.2022 Don't sit there hoping and waiting for the customers to come to you. During my walkabouts in my local shopping centers, I see lots of empty shops even on weeken...ds. I go in and talk to the business owner and the common concerns are: 1. Customers are mostly buying online 2. Customers are not aware of our shop or business 3. Customers are just looking for offers and discounts Now these are some serious concerns and businesses need to get on top of these as costs like expenses, rent and salaries keep mounting up. So what are the businesses supposed to do? Here is what I think, would love to hear everyone else's thoughts. 1. If you think that your customers are buying online rather then coming down to your shop, then you have 2 choices. Close your shop and start selling online (if you have along lease then you really need to act on your marketing) OR advertise by letting people know the disadvantages of buying online for example - you can't physically see what you are going to get, hassles of chasing refunds, losing money on postage etc. 2. Awareness of a business or their products is a huge problem. Now there are many ways to raise awareness like online and offline marketing, Facebook ads, Chatbot, newspaper ad, having a VIP day. To keep the costs down, I would recommend running a Facebook Ad for $5 a day. That's where your prospects and customers are hanging out. I recently implemented this strategy for a business and the ad reached 3500+ people within a 5 km radius (mostly this is where your customers are located). They gained 76 new customers within weeks and converted 48%. Rest are in the system. 3. Offers and Discounts have always been used to attract prospects and there is nothing wrong with that. It is how you can use it strategically to your advantage. Mcdonald's offers a $2 Cheese burger to attract and then upsells you on fries and drinks that is pure profits. Think on how can you use this same strategy in your business. Most importantly make sure to capture prospect's data like name, phone and email address. Keep building your list and use it to send information, offers, discounts, invites etc. If you need any help or advise with the above, please connect with me or checkout the Free Marketing Offer link below Want For Your Business? 01.01.2022 5 basic steps for building a Marketing strategy (continued...) 4. You can’t have a marketing strategy without goals Now that you have an understanding of your brand, potential clients, and market, it is time to set goals for your business marketing strategy based on your gathered info.... Setting goals like build awareness of my brand or sell more bags or reach more people or build a more powerful brand is okay, but how will you measure their success? Track and Measure all your marketing channels. See how many people you are reaching, how many are interacting, the links they are clicking, who is buying etc. These numbers and data will help you build and run your future campaigns. 5. Be in all the right places Setting your goals was a lengthy process, but the next step is even trickier. It is all about the how. How will you achieve these goals? There are lots of options when it comes to marketing methods. Determining which ones work for your business is sometimes a bit confusing and requires some trial and error. For your marketing strategy plan to be thorough, it needs to include marketing tactics depending on: The nature of your product or service. Where your potential clients are. For instance, Megan is most likely to respond to advertising and word of mouth as opposed to digital marketing. Here’s a list of marketing channels through which you can reach your audience: Owned : Those are the marketing channels that your business owns, that includes your website, blog or social media profiles. Earned : Those are the external marketing channels that cover your business, that includes articles on other blogs, press coverage for your event or your SEO rankings. Paid: Those are the budgeted marketing channels that your business affords, that includes TV or print advertising and sponsored social media like Facebook or Google Ads. The best marketing strategies try to incorporate all 3 elements into their marketing strategy for a more wholesome approach. Combining these elements together mixes in your traditional marketing techniques and tactics with all the modern nuances. These 5 steps are sure to help you set an extensive marketing strategy for your business; in order to make the most out of your product or service, whilst also achieving the best results.
