25.01.2022 We just finished doing the Corian works at the new Altona Police Station. Its our second Police Station, the Corian works included the Reception Counter, Watch House, Charge counter, Kitchen/Mess & several vanities and other small tea rooms. On this project, joinery was by Dezign Interiors from Albury, the builder was Nicholson Construction from Ballarat. Nicholsons have posted this walk through video on Youtube. You can see our Reception Counter in Corian Deep Cloud, The Watchouse control desk in White Jasmine and the Kitchen/Mess hall in White Jasmine. Everything is ready for the Police to move in.

25.01.2022 Just finished cladding the counter of this new cafe in Marblo Calcutta Grey. It's part of the new Home co shopping centre/Michaels IGA. (Formerly Masters) Keysborough.

24.01.2022 We've just completed a very ambitious project to refurbish 5 science class rooms in 6 weeks at Bellarine Secondary College. Working with Geelong based builder - Rendine and Ballarat based cabinet maker - Advanced Cabinetry, We installed Corian benchtops in 3 class rooms at the Drysdale Campus, the other 2 were at Ocean Grove Campus. High School science labs traditionally have benchtops made from of Chemical Resistant Laminate but its great to see the Victorian Department of E...ducation choosing the extra benefits of a solid surface benchtop. In this case it is Corian Antarctica. Compared to Chem resistant laminate, solid surface has superior chemical resistance, seamless joins ( the Bellarine benchtops were up to 11.5 meters long), repair-ability and a much larger colour choice. These photos are of the Drysdale Physics lab. We installed the Corian benchtops 2 weeks ago and the room is already in use!

24.01.2022 We just finished some work for a new bakery cafe. Le Bakehouse at 71 Lygon St, Brunswick. The counter top with matching front and side panels is made from Wilsonart Calcutta Marble Gloss laminate. The edging on the Countertop is Wilsonarts matching 3mm ABS - ideal for commercial applications like this one. Le Bakehouse opens next Thursday. I have sampled their coffee - awesome.

22.01.2022 We are making this Corian benchtop with an integrated Corian Baby Bath. We are making 2 of these for a new child care centre in Keilor. The benchtop is Cameo White the bath is in Glacier White so there is a slight contrast.

In order to comply with social distancing requirements we ask that all customers and visiting sales reps make appointments before coming to our showroom. This will enable us to limit numbers in the showroom and comply with the 4 square meter/person limit. Thank You

22.01.2022 Working Surfaces will continue to operate as we are "Manufacturing to support residential building industry". Trade customers can still visit the showroom and pick up jobs. Non-trade customers, can still organise a quote, order a benchtop and have it delivered (Using phone and email as normal). You may also be able to pick-up a job if it complies with your situation. ... We can no longer have non-trade customers in the showroom. However, those customers can still order samples on line, send drawings for quoting. And, ask advice by phone and email.

22.01.2022 We have just completed a project to custom make 43 Basins in Corian Glacier White for a new apartment development in St Kilda. There are 5 different sizes from 600mm to 1350mm wide. The bases were thermoformed so they drain to the centre. The sides were seamlessly joined and each basin finished by hand. We were able to produce 10 units per week. The versatility of the product enabled a flexible design solution not possible with off the shelf basins.

20.01.2022 We recently finished an interesting project for the Penthouse of a new apartment block in Doncaster. This series of photos shows how we met the technical challenge thrown at us by the architect. The design intent was to have an island bench with a large overhang appearing to be supported by a round column of Corian in the same Raincloud colour as the benchtops. We designed a steel frame that would be strong enough but could still be hidden by the 70 mm edge of the benchtop and the 140mm dia column. The corian cladding for the column was thermoformed in our factory in a mould built specially for the job. The halves were seamlessly joined on site. The end result is exactly as the Architect intended! Another interesting feature is the alfresco benchtop on the balcony. Corian can be used indoors and outdoors with a 10 year warranty.

18.01.2022 We have just set a new record for the biggest kitchen benchtop weve ever made. Weve smashed the old record (Beaconsfield Pde Middle Park 4 metres x 1.2metres) with this 7.2 x 1.3 metre Island benchtop in Irving Rd Toorak. It features waterfall ends and sides as well as a 3 metre clear span (another record) and dual wine fridges fitted into one of the waterfall ends. The Glacier White Corian matches beautifully with the Italian Marble floor and wall tiles (imported specially for this project. We have installed Corian benchtops in 18 rooms of this amazing house and will post more photos as the project comes to completion.

17.01.2022 Our favourite music venue, The Espy is on the comeback trail. We're looking forward to seeing what Techne Architects can do with it.

16.01.2022 We have a new timber supplier for European Oak, American Oak and some other imported hardwoods. We can now make Oak benchtops in thickness upto 60mm (we could previously only get 32mm stock). We made this island benchtop for a client in Middle Park. It is made from American Oak and finished in Danish Oil.

16.01.2022 Our latest project for Grab Developments. We fabricated and installed Corian Glacier White benchtops and vanities for the Kitchen, Butlers Pantry, Laundry and 4 bathrooms.

13.01.2022 Today we delivered another solid Tasmanian Oak Benchtop to Maccaroni Trattoria, (Manchester lane just off Collins St in the CBD) and took a photo of one of the benchtops we made for them last year. This particular benchtop is for serving customers walking past outdoors so we included a slot for the window track. The other photo was taken last year in the factory when it was being made. Most of our timber benchtops are finished in Danish Oil but for commercial applications like this one we use polyurethane. As you can see from the photo it is standing up well to the conditions.

10.01.2022 Here is the new information Kiosk at Watergardens Shopping Centre, Taylors Lakes. We made the Corian Benchtops in Deep Anthracite and Glacier White. All other joinery was made and installed by Brandscapes.

10.01.2022 We have just completed these washplane basins in Corian Weathered Concrete for Colourbox Kitchens in Dingley. The process of custom fabrication enabled us to make 3 washplanes all with completely different dimensions for length width and depth. Washplanes and other custom fabricated basins are right on trend in both commercial and residential bathrooms.

09.01.2022 Corian White Jasmin Reception desk with thermoformed corner. It is part of the upgrade of Epworth Hospital (Richmond). The actual Desk was built by Metcomm then the desk was brought into our factory and clad with Corian.

06.01.2022 We spent a large part of 2016 installing Corian benchtops in 18 rooms of an amazing house in Toorak. The house has just won a Corian design award and is featured on the CASF website. https://casf.com.au/project/toorak-residence/

06.01.2022 We recently had to install a benchtop in an octagonal kitchen in a cottage on Mt Dandenong. The benchtop actually butted to 6 of the 8 walls. The close fit & complex angles meant that working from drawings was not possible and even templating was risky. So, we set up a mini workshop on site and cut each join to fit. What would we do without Festool! The benchtop is Duropal Natural Chalet Oak.

04.01.2022 We have recently finished the Corian works at the new Police Station in Colac. It was one of the most diverse Corian projects we have done as it used 3 different colours and showcased many of the unique features that can be achieved with 100% Acrylic materials. Features included, seamless joining, thermoforming and integrated/coved splashbacks. It was another successful partnership with Advanced Cabinetry from Ballarat.

03.01.2022 We are often asked the question "why should I buy a solid surface benchtop (e.g. Corian) instead of an engineered stone benchtop (e.g. Ceasarstone) or a real stone benchtop (e.g granite). Here is an example of a Solid Surface benchtop with features that cannot be achieved with any other product. We are making this benchtop for a staff washroom at a Woolworths Supermarket. There will be 3 basins in the benchtop when installed. The colour is Corian Everest. The benchtop has a 300mm dropfront and a 240mm integrated splashback. There are no visible joins and therefore no obvious places for dirt or mould to gather. The seamless joining of the Corian makes it easy to clean and very hygenic.
