25.01.2022 A little theatre birdy told us the other day that there was ONLY ONE ticket left to this show... If you're lucky, you may just snavel it! A massive congrats to The Theatre Closet for putting on this show in these difficult times. Not only are they show-casing some wonderful Tasmanian LGBTIQ+ talent, but they will be making a donation to us from the ticket sales! Thank you so, so much! If you were lucky enough to get a ticket, we'd love to hear about the show, and look out fo...r some WIO information and a donation box on the night! Chookas!

17.01.2022 Here's another important LGBTIQ+ research project from the University of Tasmania: New Federal laws have been proposed that will have a major impact on LGBTIQ+ people. The proposed laws specifically restrict the rights of LGBTIQ+ people in government funded workplaces with religious affiliation. This research aims to identify strategies to manage religious freedom and LGBTIQ+ rights in the workplace. It is an empirical, philosophical and legal investigation into this issue. ... Follow the link below to find more information about the project and how to share you thoughts via the survey. The survey is for any LGBTIQ+ person whose workplace has a religious affiliation. https://lgbtandreligiousfreedom.com.au/

16.01.2022 Earlier this week, WIN News Tasmania presented a two-part report into LGBTIQ+ conversion practices. In Part 2, WIO's CEO Dr Lynn Jarvis speaks to the fact that people do still experience conversion practices, but there is a lack of data. 12.01.2022 Have you heard of GiveOut? Maybe not - it only started on a national basis last year (in Victoria in 2016) as a body dedicated to raising funds for and resourcing LGBTIQ+ organisations. They do this primarily via GiveOUT Day, happening this year on October 16, and is a 24hours period where people are encouraged to give to LGBTIQ+ services and projects. We are listed as a project, and encourage you - our friends and supporters - to jump on and donate. You don't need to wait ti...ll Oct 16, and you can donate any amount - whatever you are able. If you can't donate right now (which is fine!), you can support us by sharing this post. Donate here: https://giveout.org.au/supportinglgbtiqtasmanians

11.01.2022 October 16 is GiveOUT Day 2020, a day created by GiveOut in recognition that LGBTIQ+ groups and charities receive far below par when it comes to grants from all sources. It's exciting to see a number of sponsors on board who have pledged to match dollar for dollar donations on the day. But once their pledge has run out... that's it. (More info here https://giveout.org.au/sponsors ) So set yourself a reminder to donate early to WIO on GiveOut Day 2020! Our donation page is here https://giveout.org.au/supportinglgbtiqtasmanians
