25.01.2022 Final video for 2020, all about the Merry Christmas wishes. The blogs mentioned can be found here: https://lnkd.in/gxEwDGk... https://lnkd.in/gT64E-S And now, I’m officially on holidays. See you in Jan 2021.

22.01.2022 I know you’ve been hanging out for your now regular Friday morning videowell you don’t need to wait any longer, because here ‘tis Complete with three quick tips for how to give feedback like a boss - whilst also building that essential trust between you and your direct reports. Which in turn drives engagement and is another useful tool in the toolbox of exceptional workplace culture.... The video refers to an article I reshared this week, the link to it is: https://bit.ly/FeedbackarticleLI As always, don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to chat about how Workology Co can help you and your managers develop their feedback muscle.

19.01.2022 At the start of the week, our Founder Ali Drew-Forster shared a photo of a special memory that lights her up at the start of any week. The photo was from Bruce Springsteen's first Hanging Rock concert in 2013. Now, in this week's Thursday Thoughts #5, Ali manages to again reference The Boss, whilst also providing us with her top tips for giving and receiving feedback.... How does she do this? Well, by re-sharing one of her most popular articles of 2020. Don't be fooled by the 2020 reference though. The tips in this one are timeless. What's your favourite tip for giving or receiving feedback? #givingfeedback #receivingfeedback #exceptionalworkplaceculture

16.01.2022 Greetings from the beach! A small interruption to what I hope is your holiday season downtime, to present a little blog I prepared earlier. During my annual summer holidays, one of my favourite things to do (apart from hang out at said beach) is to reflect on the year that has been, and do some planning for the year ahead.... One of the ways I do that, is to think about my self-leadership. Which is where this blog comes in... What are you doing to reflect on your self-leadership right about now? #self-leadership #leadership #self-reflection #holidayreflections #holidaydowntime #planning

12.01.2022 If only I had a photo of the actual moments when I touched The Boss - twice! And by The Boss, of course I don’t mean my actual boss. This isn’t some kind of awkward reverse #metoo post. No, this is all about sharing a little something about me - namely, one of the highlights of my life, when I actually touched Bruce Springsteen’s twice as he crowd surfed and danced right near me during his first Hanging Rock concert of 2013.... I’ve been a massive Brooce fan for around 4 decades now, yep, from even before Dancing in the Dark was played on Count Down for the first time and I cried with happiness. True story. This concert was only the second time I’d seen him live, and it gave me All The Feels. The Husband (an equally huge fan) calls it the best day of his life - apparently even better than our wedding day, or the birth of either of our children! Mind you, it is definitely up there in my Top 5 as well. Bruce never fails to bring me joy. If I could share the video of when this photo was taken, all you would hear is me shouting Oh My God, OH MY GOD, progressively louder and more piercing as Bruce gets closer and closer to me. Looking at this photo and remembering this magical moment, is a great way to start the week on a high for me. What lights you up at the start of a new week?

10.01.2022 Tuesday Tip #5 Are 1:1 meetings a feature and a priority in your organisation? 1:1 meetings between a manager and each of their direct reports.... The role of the 1:1 is primarily to discuss how the team member's preceding week/fortnight has gone what worked well, any challenges the team member faced, and also to plan for the next week/fortnight. But it is also an excellent opportunity to get to know team members better. Maybe this week you discovered that your team member *Ali is a lifelong and massive fan of The Boss (aka Bruce Springsteen for all you non-Tramps aka Bruce fans.) Although maybe the way she keeps singing Born to Run at the end of every meeting should've been a give away... Communicating regularly with your team members, learning more about what makes them uniquely themselves, is a great way to build trust and overall engagement. As well as being another excellent tool to have in the exceptional workplace culture tool box. #Tuesdaytips #oneononemeetings #exceptionalworkplaceculture

09.01.2022 The Out of Office is nearly on and the beach is calling. But before that can happen, there is a bit of work to finish, including the writing and posting of Workology Co's first ever annual wrap-up. So for the type of year we hope is never repeated, here is part 1 of a 2 part wrap-up, featuring Ali Drew-Forster's professional highlights of 2020.... Featuring, of course, a new infographic. You can blame Holly Cardamone from Blue51 Communications for creating this infographic monster... Part 2, the personal highlights, will be out Wednesday. So set your alerts for around 9am on the 23d. What was your professional highlight of the year?

04.01.2022 As yesterday’s photo of Ali in a brand new (not the home) office demonstrated, Workology Co is officially open for business for 2021. What did Ali get up to during her 3 weeks holiday (apart from working on the tan?) And what does the new year look like for Workology Co? Planning using the Stop, Start, Change and Continue method and Stakeholder Engagement are the short answers.... Read the blog to learn more, including how Workology Co can help your organisation thrive in 2021. And if you would like to book a no obligation discovery call to chat about how we can help your organisation, the link is in the blog or email us at [email protected]

04.01.2022 How often do you need to have conversations with your team? And how often are those conversations some form of feedback whether positive or negative? In Workology Co’s white paper, 53% of our research participants identified that regular feedback was a key feature of the best workplace culture they had ever been a part of.... Whilst 53% of participants identified that a lack of difficult conversations being had, was a key factor prohibiting their current organisations from moving towards exceptional culture. This week’s Tuesday Tip (#5) was all about the value of conducting regular 1:1 meetings with all team members. The ability to have clear conversations AND to give feedback is a critical tool in every manager’s toolbox. And yet time and time (and time) again, I assist clients with problems that have arisen due to a manager’s inability to conduct these essential conversations. Or conduct them well and in a psychologically safe manner. Which is why one of the first training programs Workology Co ever created for our clients is our Developing Your Feedback Muscle program. Link to package: https://bit.ly/developingfeedbackmuscle If you would like to chat about how / when we can work with your management team to help them flex their feedback muscle, reach out and let’s chat: https://bit.ly/34x70vR White paper: https://lnkd.in/gmbDiAq

03.01.2022 It’s that time of year already! After three fabulous weeks of holidays, I’m officially back at work today and Workology Co is open for business and ready for whatever challenges 2021 throws our way. I’m also a bit excited that I’m at a brand new, *real office (other than the home one) for the first time since last March. (So new the pictures haven’t been hung yet).... Look out for a new blog out tomorrow as we continue to connect with you via the magic of social media. How is your new working year looking? Are you back today as well? #backtowork #newoffice #notthehomeoffice #happynewworkyear #openforbusiness #workologyco #exceptionalworkplaceculture

02.01.2022 As one of Emma McQueen's Thriving Women in 2020, every Friday was 'grateful Friday', where we shared with each other what we were grateful for during the preceding week. Honestly, sometimes I had to dig really deep to find what I was grateful for, especially during the long, hard, boring second lockdown in Melbourne. But as with any practice, the more I did it, the better I got at it: and the more I realised how important it was.... Which is why my first ever yearly wrap-up blog(s) are all about gratitude. Here is part 2 - what I am personally grateful for in 2020. Which yes, does include being a Thriving Woman member. And Schitts Creek. And...well, why don't you read it and find out more?!? What are you personally grateful for in 2020?

01.01.2022 Whilst many people are officially back to work today, our Ali Drew-Forster is not yet amongst those numbers. She has however taken time out from chasing the sun to write and post this blog, all about the importance of planning for 2021. Particularly, how the ongoing challenges of the pandemic mean organisations need to ensure they prioritise planning for what their culture will look like in 2021 not just leaving it to chance.... If they want to thrive rather than merely survive that. Read on to learn more.
