19.01.2022 Today is the last day of kindy and year 1 for my two I’m sure I’m not alone here, but I feel this incredible sense of gratitude (and emotion) towards their school; the phenomenal Teachers who worked their butts off this year, and the safe space they have created (amongst the chaos) to grow and nurture, all our children’s, emotional and mental wellbeing. What a year it’s been! I’m so proud of us as a family and can’t wait to spend the next few weeks soaking up QT toget...her. When I reflect back on the last few years - from building a fitness community from the ground up with @momentumbootcamps to now creating something special online with Workout WorkIn - it’s almost surreal to think about the gazillion steps it took to get to this exact moment in time. Life’s twists, turns, heartache, growth, triumphs, love and trauma that has all unfolded in such a compressed period of time : that has influenced and moulded me into the woman I am now. 05.01.2022 There’s a pretty awesome feeling when you nail a session. When it’s a good challenge for the workout, and immensely relaxing and restorative for the work in. Today was one of those days.... I asked my clients to give me one word for both the exercise and meditation components, and here’s a few responses : Killer & zen Hardcore & exactly what I needed Intense & Relaxed That’s exactly what I wanted to achieve with this online practice. The feeling you get when you’ve really taken yourself to the next level & upped the ante, where you’re working hard but equally have a healthy sense of accomplishment for what your body has achieved. Then you deep dive into a calming, nourishing meditation that transports you to another realm of relaxation and peacefulness. Today has been a great day. It’s also my little girls 6th birthday so I’m feeling happy and grateful - for all of this - for my online community, family, the magic of being a mother and everything in between. 01.01.2022 In 2018, the incredibly talented author and life force, Elizabeth Gilbert posted on her social media accounts something that was so powerful, it has stayed with me to this very day. It was a post that came a few months after the death of her wife, Rayya and it featured a woman (Rayya’s ex wife, GiGi Madl) dancing. The caption read... "Dear Ones: Grief is a full-body experience. This is what I’ve learned in the months since Rayya died: Grief is a living energy field that wants to move through you (the way storms move across the summer sky) and grief can’t move unless you allow it to. Otherwise it settles in your bones, and makes you sink in pain. You can help grief move through you with music and with dance this is what my friends and I have learned. We dance and sing and MOVE so that our grief can move through us." -- For anyone reading this, who is in grief, I encourage you to listen to it and move intuitively, with it.
