24.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day. This important day helps raise awareness about mental health, by empowering people to have the confidence to start a conversation about mental health. Being equipped with the skills and knowledge about how to talk to someone about mental health is important. Having these types of conversations can make us feel uncomfortable and unprepared and often means these conversations don't happen at all. This is why our facilitators are so passionate about deliver...ing the Mental Health First Aid training programs as they often get to see the real life impact they have on workplaces and peoples lives. In the standard Mental Health First Aid course, you will learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems or a crisis such as thoughts of suicide. You’ll gain the confidence to give the most effective support you can and when and how to access professional help. You’ll also learn about the sorts of treatments which have been shown by research to be the most effective, and how to access these. Having a conversation about mental health could change a life and we believe that learning the right skills can make all the difference. If you would like to learn the skills to be able to have that conversation. Click the link below. Our next Melbourne CBD course is in 3 weeks. https://workplaceinterventions.com.au//mhfa-accredited-tr/

16.01.2022 Dear all, We felt it prudent to update you on the efforts we have undertaken, and will continue to take, for safe work practices in light of COVID 19. WorkPlace Interventions is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of all its employees, participants and valued clients.... At WorkPlace Interventions we are also working on a contingency plan to ensure minimum impact on workshops. Currently we have implemented the following: - Blended style of learning. Offering webinar capabilities as an alternative to a number of our courses to participants who cannot physically attend the course. - There is now additional hand sanitiser stations within our city office (including but not limited to inside our training room, at reception and in the kitchen) - Diligent cleaning of shared workspaces - Regular monitoring of the official reports from local health authorities as well as the World Health Organisation Additional soap and paper towels in our bathrooms and kitchens As the coronavirus is a Global outbreak as much as possible we will work with the client to minimise the impact. I ask that you work closely with us as a team to ensure the best possible outcome for all parties. What we need from you: 1. As you know, the general advice to the community is to self-isolate for 14 days if you have travelled anywhere overseas as of midnight last night. This applies even if you have no symptoms. 2. In addition, please don’t attend training if you feel unwell and have the core symptoms of COVID-19: a fever, shortness of breath and coughing. 3. Please continue to practice good personal hygiene, including: - Wash hands for 20 seconds with soap regularly but particularly after using the bathroom and before eating food. - Avoid touching your face viruses can enter through the eyes and nose as well as mouth - Cough and sneeze into your elbow rather than hand - If unwell, avoid contact with others (including shaking hands or other touching, such as hugging) WorkPlace Interventions are also working around the clock to develop new facilitator led online courses in addition to the already extensive list of the off-the-shelf eLearning courses available which can be found: https://wpielearning.com.au/ -
