17.01.2022 The Fair Work Commission handed down its decision on the minimum wage case today. In summary, 1. The national minimum wage increases by 1.75% or from $19.49 to $19.84 per hour and is effective on the first pay period after 1 July 2020. This applies to employees that are NOT covered by modern awards or enterprise agreement. 2. Pay rates in modern awards will increase by 1.75% and are effective on the first pay period after 1 July 2020, 1 November 2020 or 1 February 2021 depend...ing on which industry award applies to you. Note 1 - An Absorption clause may be in an industry award and therefore the increase may not apply.
