09.01.2022 COVID-19 is having a dramatic impact across the world and on many industries. It is causing many companies to adopt new ways of operating in order to maintain the delivery of products and services. The occupational rehabilitation industry, like many others, is being challenged to be more flexible and innovative in the way that services are delivered. Like many other organisations, Work Rehab are taking steps, in accordance with our business continuity plan, to ensure that we ...maintain staff health and safety and that there is minimal disruption to our services during this uncertain time. We are continuing to provide all services and make small changes to the way that we operate, where necessary. All Work Rehab staff are enabled to work remotely with laptops, mobile devices and with access to cloud-based tools. Where staff are considering attending face to face meetings with clients, or undertaking travel to visit clients, they must first undertake a risk assessment before proceeding. We are also increasing our guidance to clients to support them to interact with us through tele-health and Skype. Simple changes applied consistently, to the way we work, along with strong values, centered around people, are helping us through these uncertain times. Finally, thank you to our wonderful team of rehabilitation consultants and corporate staff.

06.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The dates for NRW remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively. Reconciliation must live in the hearts,... minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. https://www.reconciliation.org.au/national-reconciliation-/ #NRW2020 #InThisTogether2020

05.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July (November this year due to COVID) to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. The 2020 National NAIDOC Poster, Shap...e of Land, was designed by Tyrown Waigana, a Noongar and Saibai Islander man. Tyrown’s artwork tells the story of how the Rainbow Serpent came out of the Dreamtime to create this land. It is represented by the snake and it forms the shape of Australia, which symbolises how it created our lands. The colour from the Rainbow Serpent is reflected on to the figure to display our connection to the Rainbow Serpent, thus our connection to country. The overlapping colours on the outside is the Dreamtime. The figure inside the shape of Australia is a representation of Indigenous Australians showing that this country - since the dawn of time - Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land. See more
