25.01.2022 The sliding deadman is done. I have burnt it to harden the timber and for contrast. Almost done with the bench and then I can get onto setting up my workshop at home.
24.01.2022 A beautiful small gift for Christmas party. Order yours now.
23.01.2022 Another coffee table donated to my son’s school this one is in Australian Oak and designed to match the style of the dining table completed recently. @ Perth, Western Australia
23.01.2022 Two large jewelry display cabinets in Australian Oak. The first time we have had to fit glass in a piece, nervous work but it turned out well.
21.01.2022 This glue up is just the legs, we need another bottle of glue for the two pieces that make up the top. Just working out now if we should add a contrast to the design. Jarrah or charred timber for a couple of highlights.
15.01.2022 Bandsawn box in Aussie Oak.
14.01.2022 A small side table made for the South Perth Rotary club. Australian oak finished in blond shellac.
14.01.2022 Commencing work on the last workbench by me in this workshop, and this one’s for me. Thanks to @franzbuildingsupplies for the marvelous Vic Ash.
14.01.2022 This is the back of the split-top Roubo bench. It used all of my large clamps, and I didn’t need any more - which is unusual for clamping something up.
13.01.2022 Ok Instagram hive-mind. Where did I put the pin for the cris-cross during the move? It must have in a great place, because I can’t find it now.
12.01.2022 The @benchcrafted leg vice fits together very nicely. Now to put the whole bench together.
08.01.2022 This solid garden bench was made as a graduation gift from the Year 6 class to Yidarra Catholic Primary School. It has been weather-proofed to reduce the maintenance needed.
07.01.2022 Almost there with the shaving horse. I just have to attach the foot treadle and we are done.
05.01.2022 You would hardly know it from the mess on my bench, but I am getting organised. I might be able to make something in a couple of weeks.
05.01.2022 Dining table in Aussie Oak. Finished in shellac and delivered to a very happy client. @ Perth, Western Australia
05.01.2022 This dining table was custom made to fit a small verandah. It has also been sealed to reduce weathering. Otherwise, just a really nice Oak table. @ Perth, Western Australia
03.01.2022 Today is my 50th birthday, I just want so say how supported and loved I feel from my family who allow me to chase my passion.
03.01.2022 First time using the @tormek_sharpening T-8 in anger. There was a huge nick in the plane iron, so I am glad I didn’t have to remove it by hand.
03.01.2022 The base is glued up, it was so much easier using drawbore pins than mucking around with clamps. Love this as a method.
02.01.2022 Has anyone used Jarrah dowels for a drawbore mortise and tenon? Is it a dumb idea I am following for the contrast?
01.01.2022 It’s the weekend and time to spend some time in the workshop in my open-toed safety boots. Take it easy and enjoy your day.
