25.01.2022 For those not awake at 1am to see the end of the kickstarter: over 11 million Yen was raised, that's approx $142,800 AU! It was a huge effort in the last week from local organisers, alumni and all of you who shared, participated and donated. We had such an amazing community spirit that truly shows cosplay is a family. While 15million yen was the goal to ensure WCS ran as it always has, the amount contributed is nothing to sneeze at. The Japanese organisation have said that it will be enough that some shape or form will continue in 2021, which is amazing news. It's too hard to determine what will happen in 2021, given the current corona-virus pandemic, but it is very heartening to know that WCS wont die and we can continue to contribute to the cosplay community <3
