24.01.2022 WORLD DESTINATIONS DINGLEY VILLAGE UPDATE: It’s been a little while since we have sent an update on what’s going on with all our staff and the store so we thought we would let you all know what’s happening. We hope you are all staying well and safe (and sane) in these strange times.... We are first and foremost, still operating as your local Travel Agent. However, due to Victorian Government Restrictions, we had to close our store temporarily and all staff are working from home until further notice on reduced hours/days. It appears that restrictions are slowly lifting, and hopefully with retail & hospitality now open, we can have some sense of normality back in this strange new world. At this point in time the directive for us as Travel Agents is to continue working from home if we can which means that you won’t see us back in the office when retail stores are back open. We are happy to make appointments for you to meet with us to discuss any travel-related issues on a one to one basis so that we can keep everyone safe in store. These appointments must be made in advance and are subject to staff availability. Please be assured that World Destinations is still operating, and we have no plans to close the store. Despite the 100% loss of income due to refunds & reschedules, the business will continue through this hiccup with the one aim of providing amazing holidays to our wonderful clients when the time comes. We are doing everything possible to keep our costs down & keep our staff connected to the business. As a member of Helloworld Travel our head office have been helpful and are working hard on some great travel deals moving forward, and of course ensuring the longevity of the brand and the stores. Refunds and credits are still being monitored daily, and as soon as we receive your refund, we will notify you and get details from you to get the funds back to you. Any deposits, tours or airfares held in credit are safe and funds are held in a Trust Account and cannot be used for any business expenses. We must do this as part of our Franchise agreement with Helloworld, and to be part of ATAS and AFTA. Rest assured that no matter what extra/additional work we have, we have not forgotten you. We are now past the peak for cancellations and most bookings have been actioned/cancelled which is great, we are just waiting to finalise all the credits and refunds. AND ONE LAST THING: With domestic borders slowly opening, and hopefully NZ travel on the horizon, please remember that as your locally owned Travel Agent, we can book everything for you and the money stays local and not with some large overseas online agency. While there’s obviously still plenty to work through, we’ve taken some big steps forward in Aus that are most definitely worth celebrating this weekend. - Hello lockdown free Melbourne! Your first weekend of freedom again... ENJOY every single second of it! ... - The WA border announcement yesterday that it will open up to a range of states and territories from 14 Nov was a huge and welcome surprise. Here’s hoping VIC and NSW can follow by the end of Nov and certainly before Christmas. - The race for a COVID vaccine is reaching a crucial stage, with the glimmer of a possibility that one of the leading contenders will be approved by Christmas. Add some big advancements in preflight testing and we are heading in the right direction for international travel and the many travel bubbles we are all tired of hearing about to actually get some confirmed start dates soon. Quarantine free New Zealand by Christmas? It’s looking more and more likely. Overall, cases are down to bare minimum levels Australia wide, summer is beckoning and while dire predictions had previously been made, things are moving a lot quicker now than forecasted, so let’s hope the positive spring momentum continues. 13.01.2022 Talk about an EPIC day of news updates. New Zealanders to be allowed to travel quarantine free to NSW and the NT from October 16. They will have to quarantine if and when they return to NZ but still - it's huge progress. QLD to allow all of NSW to enter from 1 November pending no community transmission for 28 days (Note the irony of this date versus the above news. It's also the day after the QLD election).... TAS to allow South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the ACT to enter from October 26. The political domino effect of border reopenings has begun. 05.01.2022 Hi folks, here is an updated border status update. Just in: the NSW border is closed to Victoria from 11:59pm Tuesday. Other states and territories: All travellers except those from Vic can enter QLD from July 10. Travellers from NT, QLD, Tas and WA can enter SA without restrictions. NT will open its borders July 17 and Tasmania from July 24.

05.01.2022 The First Day Of The New Financial Year...... Yesterday was a tough day. I'm not going to lie. Closing off the books last night showed a harsh reality to the damage COVID-19 has done. I reminded myself that the numbers are not a reflection on me, nor are they are a reflection on our business, they are purely COVID Numbers. There is no doubt we have had days recently that have tested us to our core and although the current COVID-19 pandemic has been exceptionally chaotic, I... truly believe it will be followed by huge amounts of opportunity and growth. Covid-19 is bound to change travel forever in ways we may not currently understand just yet, but the reality is that it will end and people will start traveling again. We will be here ready to help all of you explore our beautiful world again. Although we have had some very tough days, I am grateful for being able to have had more family time, more time to spend upskilling, learning, and growing and I'm extremely grateful to my team who have stood by me like absolute troopers. I know that when this is over our business, client relationships and the team will be stronger than ever. Nothing will be able to stop us! So Today marks the first day of the New Year. Like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. With every border, including our state borders closed to us right now, we enter the new financial year facing our greatest battle yet. But for those who know me well know that I have always loved a good challenge!! We will enter this New Financial Year being led by our dreams.. not pushed by our problems. Keep Dreaming With Us.. We are one day closer to this being over and when the world opens it’s doors again, we’ll be there ready to explore every corner of it with you.
