22.01.2022 Back in the year 2000, Matt Sheil arrived in Marana, Arizona looking for a shell to house his new project: Build a 747 simulator. He selected a recently decommissioned TWA 747-100, N93107 (Serial number 17107). http://prntscr.com/wsfziz Matt spent the next 3 days removing the flight deck from the airframe, gathering parts, then packing and shipping everything back to Sydney, Australia. http://prntscr.com/wsg9qu... http://prntscr.com/wsgdle Once in Australia, Matt installed it onto a purpose built frame and QFA25 was born. http://prntscr.com/wsgimz Over the course of the next decade, many original parts were meticulously cleaned and installed, others were faithfully reproduced from scratch. http://prntscr.com/wsglbj http://prntscr.com/wsgm2d http://prntscr.com/wsgmos http://prntscr.com/wsi6mk Once completed, the entire simulator was enclosed and loaded onto a hydraulic motion platform. http://prntscr.com/wsgooq http://prntscr.com/wsgpu4 http://prntscr.com/wsgrd3 http://prntscr.com/wsgv6p Throughout the entire period, on the 1st Sunday of November every year, QFA25 has, together with thousands of friends from around the globe, and with amazing support from VATSIM and its community, made it's way around the globe raising important funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia. After 2 decades of service it is now time for Boeing airframe serial number 17107 to (virtually) retire back to the desert from where she came, in favour of a newer model, constructed entirely from original parts. http://prntscr.com/wsiwh5 For her final hurrah, Worldflight would like to invite all our friends from the last 20 years to accompany us as we transport QFA25 from her home in Sydney back to Pinal Airpark in Arizona. Departing January 29th, 2021 at 0100z via Wellington, Samoa, and Hawaii. http://prntscr.com/wsim8d Once the old simulator has been decommissioned and removed from the motion platform, the hydraulic systems will undergo heavy maintenance before the new sim is placed into position. Keep your eyes open for another mini event around April/May when the new sim has been commissioned. We look forward to seeing you all on January 29th. The Worldflight Team. See more

09.01.2022 We are pleased to release the Worldflight 2020 route. We appreciate that at first glance it looks as though we are avoiding a few continents, but there IS method to our madness. For the first time, Worldflight will be visiting the very best airports FS2020 default scenery has to offer. Like you, we look forward to seeing the amazing scenery features of the default airports replicated right around the globe in time for Worldflight's 21st birthday in 2021. This route has also b...een selected to spend time in areas often forgotten about in the last 5 years of Worldflight. This year we experience the vastness of Russia, a plethora of Asian airports and the wide expanses of Canada. Dont worry South America and Africa, we will be back next year to say "Hi!". The Worldflight website will be updated in the coming weeks with all the usual downloads available. Whether you participate via xPlane, FS9, FSX, P3D, FS2020, VRC, Euroscope, or vatSys, join us for Worldflight 2020, departing Sydney on October 31st at 21:00UTC. See more

08.01.2022 In these unusual times we've had to do a complete rethink of the route for 2020. We had planned to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Worldflight with a very special route but this has now been pushed to next year when Worldflight turns 21 and (at least in the USA) will be old enough to maybe enjoy a quiet little drink enroute ;) The ink is almost dry on the new route and will be released in the next 24 hours.

08.01.2022 WorldFlight 2020 Fundraising Results Hi All, so the final tally for the WF2020 event in our respective currencies is:- AUD120,259.00 GBP66,229.00 NZD126,540... Under the circumstances and with a few teams unable to participate due to the Pandemic I think we did really well. We will endeavor to celebrate our 21st WF next year and try and make it the biggest ever event. See more
