04.01.2022 TUESDAY TRAINER TIP OF THE WEEK Tricep muscles take up 70% of your upper arms, so today we are showing you through a simple and useful exercise to target them. Say hello to your new friend the TRICEP PULLDOWN. Grab yourself a rope attachment on the cable machine. Start by bracing your abdominals.... Tuck your elbows in at your sides, inhale and pull down cable, pivoting from the elbows. Keep your elbows close to your body and tucked in. As you exhale, return to the starting point using a controlled movement. Try not to crash the weights. **Don’t allow your elbows to flare outward on the downward push. This negates the work on your triceps and places unwanted stress on your shoulders. Give it a go! For beginners, aim to complete 4 sets of 8 reps

04.01.2022 MEET ALAN 'BUNDY' Robertson aka Mr Loud Another amazing member of our WGAthletics program, Bundy is an arborist and loves his job because of the physicality of it and the amazing views you can get from the top of a tree-line! Starting off being 'that new guy' in the gym not sure what to do, to now having lost 26kgs in 3 months, Bundy says WGAthletics was a key part of his journey. "Athletics was a big step for me but I'm so glad I did, I've learnt technique on all diff...erent exercises, made genuine friends, not just the ones you wave to at in the gym, but ones I would stop and have a chat to in the supermarket haha they are like whanau (family)."
