25.01.2022 #10 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Hot air ballooning: Cappadocia, Turkey. Cappadocia is known around the world as one of the best places to fly with hot air balloons. The spectacular surrealistic landscapes combined with excellent flying conditions allow the balloons to gently drift over and between fairy chimneys, pigeon houses hewn into the unique rock formations, orchards and vineyards through impressive valleys, each with distinctive rock formations, colours and features and then float up over rippled ravines for breathtaking views over the region. Champagne breakfast anyone?

22.01.2022 #8 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Hallstatt, AUSTRIA. Until the 19th century this beautiful Austrian town, which overlooks Lake Hallstatt, was accessible only by boat or mountain trail. Today it's a popular tourist destination and a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the most photographed towns in the world, Hallstatt is a little town of breathtaking views, picturesque charm and rich culture. You could simply sit and stare for days. Considered to be one of the oldest still inhabited settlement in Europe, the Chinese found it to be so unbelievably spectacular that that created a copy!

21.01.2022 #4 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Taktsang Lhakhang, BHUTAN. Taktsang Lhakhang is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious site. The name Taktsang translates to The Tiger’s Nest. This temple is one of the most holy sites in the kingdom and clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 hundred meters above the Paro Valley. Visiting the Paro Taktsang Monastery is an unforgettable experience thanks to its unique location and the views of surrounding majestic mountains and emerald green valleys. The remote location of the monastery makes it amazingly beautiful and unique, but also creates technical difficulties. At a medium pace the top can be reached in 2 hours and it is a fairly easy climb along a steady, up hill dirt path. At 10,000 ft. it's not for the faint hearted! Photo credit triphackr

18.01.2022 #15 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - The ancient city of Bagan, MYANMAR. A sight to rival Machu Picchu or Angkor Wat, the lesser known city of Bagan in central Myanmar (previously Burma) is one of the world’s greatest archaeological sites. Rising from the canopy of green are hundreds of temples that were built by the kings of Bagan between 1057 and 1287. Most are superbly preserved or have been restored by Unesco. Only a handful are regularly visited, and though tourist numbers are increasing and the hawkers are beginning to appear, this is still, by the standards of sites of a similar beauty and stature, a gloriously unspoilt destination.

13.01.2022 #13 WorldiFi #bucketlist 2017 - Travertine Terraces of Pamukkale, TURKEY. There are dramatic travertine terraces dotted all around the globe, from China to Iran, the USA to Afghanistan. But nowhere else in the world can visitors enjoy exploring both picturesque travertine formations, built up over the millennia, and the colonnaded streets and remains of the Greek-Roman spa city, Hierapolis. You can even bathe, as the Romans once did, in a picturesque pool filled with warm, m...ineral rich waters and swim amongst submerged columns of great antiquity. Pamukkale’s surreal landscape was formed over millennia by limestone deposited by 17 hot springs in the area. The scenery is unworldly. Sweeping limestone cliffs of a blinding white hue rise above pools of powder blue while petrified stakes of limestone hang from chalky roots like icing dripping off a cake. Get there early in the morning to avoid the crowds! See more

12.01.2022 #14 WorldiFi #bucketlist 2017 - Hidden cenote's: Yucatan, MEXICO. While flocking to the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Yucatan Peninsula, it's inevitable that you'll hear whispers of these hidden, crystal clear, cenotes. Once revered by the Mayan's as mysterious, mythical sites where human beings could directly communicate with the gods. They formed as a result of collapsed porous limestone bedrock with the force of the impact revealing a subterranean aquatic system that truly feels magical. These natural underground pools house an ecosystem of tropical fish and vitamin-and-mineral rich algae. Perfect for snorkelling, you'll experience the type of underground world only a professional diver would normally have the privilege of experiencing! Top cenote's to add to your list include: Yokdzonot, Dos Ojos and Samula.

12.01.2022 #11 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 -The World's best restaurant 2016, Osteria Francescana: Modena, ITALY. The World’s Best Restaurant? Yes, as voted by a panel of almost 1,000 gastronomic experts worldwide! After two years in the No.2 spot, Massimo Bottura’s tranquil restaurant in a Modena back street rightly steps up to take the global crown, reflecting the chef’s ongoing creativity, immense skill, undimmed passion and fierce determination to defy the odds. We're hanging to try the famous Five Ages of Parmigiano Reggiano which explores the region’s esteemed cheese via temperature, texture and, of course, taste. 10.01.2022 #12 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Route 12 Road Trip: Utah, USA. Get your Thelma & Louise on and cruise one of the most stunning roads in the world. Route 12 runs from Capitol Reef National Park to Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. The route goes for 250km at significant altitudes and goes through forested mountains to the amazing bald mountains in Boulder. Locals recommend you grab a feed here at the Hells Backbone Grill. From there the road begins following a narrow ridge along the red canyons of Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Rocky mountains as far as the eye can see, lofty snow-capped peaks, freshly fallen brilliant white snow contrasting with red rocks create a unique landscape which would be hard to replicate anywhere else in the world.

08.01.2022 #5 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Galapagos Islands, ECUADOR. A bucket-list favourite for good reason, this otherworldly archipelago of about 19 islands and many smaller islets sprinkled 620 miles off Ecuador’s coast in the Pacific Ocean is a double World Heritage site. Each island boasts its own unique landscape, ranging from barren black, volcanic rocks to swaths of white sand beaches melting into gemstone-blue waters. Known as the unofficial animal kingdom of South America, ...thanks to a lack of natural predators, friendly wildlife like playful sea lions and gigantic sea tortoises let visitors get up close and personal. The Galapagos Islands are a nature lover's paradise with some of the most unusual species in the world evolved here, including giant tortoises, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, and even the world's only equatorial penguin. With only four islands inhabited by humans, most islands can only be visited with a certified naturalist guide on one of the Galapagos yachts approved by the park service. See more

08.01.2022 #3 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Lower Antelope Canyon, Arizona , USA. This incredible canyon has been created over many thousands of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes. The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon’s walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow. You must have a guide to enter the canyon, @kenstour offer both general and photography tours with best light between 10am - 12pm.

03.01.2022 #9 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Abu Dhabi, UAE. Although the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has only been around for less than a decade, its regal architecture has already made it the crown jewel of Abu Dhabi and one of the largest mosques in the world. The mosque accommodates 41,000 worshippers and is one of the few in the region open to non-Muslims. A masterpiece of modern Islamic architecture and design with over 100,000 tons of pure white Greek and Macedonian marble used in its construction. Delicate floral designs inlaid with semi-precious stones decorate a variety of marbles and contrast with the more traditional geometric ceramic details. Visit at 4:30pm to catch a glimpse of golden hour, along with the perfect sunset.

02.01.2022 #6 WorldiFi #bucketlist2017 - Marble Cathedral at Lake Carrera: Patagonia, CHILE. Considered to be the most beautiful cave network in the world, this spectacular marble cathedral and intricate system of water-filled caverns, is set in the General Carrera lake in Chile's Patagonia. The secluded clear-blue lake hides one of Earth’s most beautiful gems in the water containing crystals the size of four story buildings, and colourful stone that intertwines with one another right before your eyes. The caves have been shaped into their current formation by wave erosion, also revealing the marble effect of colours. It might not be easy to get o but we think it sure looks worth it!
