Waste is estimated to have increased due to the severe disruption of global supply chains. Reducing waste is a key part in reducing our global footprint further and pres...erving our precious resources. 02.01.2022 In some parts of the ocean, people are now seeing more masks than jellyfish. PLEASE avoid single-use masks where possible and opt for a reusable mask that can be machine-washed instead. If single-use masks are unavoidable (we know they are a requirement in many occupations especially in our health industry) please dispose of your mask consciously and remember to cut the strings off the side to avoid animals potentially getting caught up in them later. ... As the COVID cases in QLD have increased slightly we have seen a significant increase in masks that have been thrown away or discarded on sidewalks, streets, gardens and gutters. This is simply unacceptable. Protect yourself, protect your community, and protect our environment. Its possible to do all three at once with a little bit of effort and care. https://theconversation.com/coronavirus-face-masks-an-envir
