Diversity has reached into every facet of our lives as we learn how to care for each other in unusual circumstances. Examples of this human-animal and technological relationship include Ruby adopting digital strategies to stream her own YouTube clips or partake in video calls, support networks that are contactable 24/7, an online university degree, robotic surgery, medical appointments using Skype, the list is endless. Instead of isolating us from the Central Queensland Region, a diverse digital realm has allowed us to slowly but surely begin to connect with others, not only locally but throughout the entire state. Best Friends Forever (BFF) offers not a dysfunctional life but one that is enriched by thinking outside the box we both have embraced diversity and found a contemporary way of wellbeing. WOOF! 16.01.2022 World Theatre Art Gallery: STATE OF DIVERSITY Qld Regional Art Awards Touring Exhibition 2020 until 6 Sept 2020 Flying Arts annual visual arts prize and exhibition for established and emerging artists living in regional and remote Queensland. ... Natafilinga was blackbirded from her island home of Oba, Vanuatu to Queensland in 1875. Katie, as she was later known, was put to work in the cane fields at age 15. I explore the human face of the South Sea Islander community, identifying and understanding the unique differences of their culture and of adaptation in the removal from their homelands and life in their new land. South Sea Islanders are part of the Australian cultural landscape. Rendered in charcoal on linen, Gloria’s portrait shows her strength and resilience which I believe has been handed down from her great grandmother’s philosophy of, Never look back, always forward. 13.01.2022 see it this week... THE INNOCENT CHILD 75CM X 90CM Acrylic on Canvas... This painting represents childhood innocents and growing as we learn. The world is full of wonderment and awe. We must remind ourselves to always look at life, through the eyes of a child. Ensuring that we feel safe, protected and without worry as we care for each other. This also represents our connection to one another through family and community. Dragonflies and butterflies move effortlessly as they dance upon the breeze on a beautiful sunny day. Inner beauty, strength and spirit is a blessing of abundance. The butterfly has a short life span, therefore we must each live our life with purpose and meaning. We must continue to share our Dreaming stories, as we walk the path guided by our Ancestors. Life is a mystery filled with many lessons. This allows up to emerge from our own "chrysalis" as we go on to a higher learning and evolvement. This painting also carries the power of knowledge and wisdom for those who teach and heal. 50 shades of my heart Paintings by Tania Ault DILLINGA until 4 Oct 2020 WED THU FRI 10AM to 2PM; FRI SAT 6PM to 9PM; SAT SUN 1pm- 6PM.

05.01.2022 at the gallery now... DILLINGA'S JOURNEY 60CM X 60CM Acrylic on Canvas... My creation story is not my story alone. The circle in the centre is the child and the circles on both sides represent the parents. The child is born of Gud'ala country. Water flows along the river and there are many hills out on this country also. This is just the beginning and there is a long way to go in this journey. There are ancient sites to see and observe. Much like life itself. The bird's eye view takes the brolga high up into the sky. At first with her parents, then she is left to journey through life alone. A journey of awe and wonderment takes place over the next half century. What comes next? Only she can tell the story of Dillin a's journey. A journey that has provided much wisdom and knowledge. A journey full of lessons and a deep sense of appreciation and achievement. For this is her journey -Dillin a's journey. A celebration of 50 Earth years .
