24.01.2022 We’ve talked about parti sapphires before, but ever wonder how they get their different colours? Sapphires actually owe their intense colours to impurities in the stone. Trace amounts of iron create the colour yellow, while blue is caused by the presence of titanium and trace amounts of iron. Stones with titanium and higher amounts of iron appear green. Just a bit of gemstone trivia for you. This stunning parti sapphire actually contains all three colours in one stone! All 100% natural and untreated. Just this month, a critically endangered leatherback turtle was found dead on a Gold Coast beach after a suspected struggle in a shark net. We have built our business on the principles of slow and sustainable. This means making the products we sell ourselves, from high quality materials and paying fair wages. It means we set prices that are fair for us and you, not marking them up so that we can discount them at 60% off. We also make our jewellery to last - literally forever, not so that it ...breaks 12 months later and you have to buy more to replace it. We encourage our customers to buy well, buy once - good for your wallet, good for the planet. We also believe in using our business to give back to the earth that provides us with so much. These principles don’t align with the panic buying/overconsumption, fast fashion mentality that Black Friday promotes. Given the impact this has on our planet, the small business community, even our mental health, its something we have decided not to support.
