24.01.2022 Imagine you’re lifting weights at the gym. At the first sign of struggle or strain, a well-meaning bystander lifts the weight for you every time. Are you goin...g to get any stronger? Will you ever discover just how strong you can be? No matter how pure our intentions, the same concept applies when we refuse to let our children struggle. If we always solve problems for our children, they will never learn to solve problems themselves. We imply that they cannot overcome obstacles or succeed on their own, which conditions them to give up at the first sign of difficulty. Be sure to check out our latest blog post to read more!

24.01.2022 Their turn is coming! Meet your child where they are and show them they’re doing more than they could before. Support their progress. We can support our child’s emotional development by showing them they should only compare themselves to themselves.

21.01.2022 Cars and math make a great team when it comes to learning addition! I love this addition game because it shows how many different answers there can be to the sa...me question. This is great for kids that are active, or love to solve puzzles. MATERIALS: - Coloured Paper - Toy cars - Glue - Scissors - Ruler - Marker INSTRUCTIONS: (1) Take the small square of colour paper, and cut off 2 corners, so it resembles and house (a square with a triangle on it). (2) With the ruler and marker, draw a horizontal line where the triangle meets the square. Can you see it now? From the centre of this line, draw a vertical line straight down, making a ’T’ shape. (3) On your smaller colour paper scraps, write a number, any number. I did 5. I then made multiple math houses and wrote the numbers 3, 7, and 6. (4) On more coloured paper scraps, write the numbers 1-5. Glue them to the top of some toy cars. (5) Now, park two cars in the garage that add up to the houses number! #TheDadLab #playandlearn #preschool #montessoriathome #montessorikids #learningthroughplay #learningisfun #preschoolteacher #preschoolactivities #preschooler #kindergarten #homeschooling

If this happens during the session I will add extra time to the end of the session to cover for my rebooting session. I look forward to your continued sup...port. 12.01.2022 To my families Please ensure payment is received. I send out invoices every fortnight or monthly. I need to be able to ensure I am paid on time. I am a small business who uses this pay to cover my costs. Just for future notice due to payment issues all invoices will be created monthly. As some families do not pay on time I have to chase payment. I do not have time to chase you. ... Please ensure payment is received otherwise I may have to look at terminating your spot. I offer tutoring currently at a discount cost of $30.00 per hour for new families. This discount will be offered until December 2020. My fees will increase to $40.00 per hour my previous covid fee. From January 2020 I will be asking families to buy education books. Along with a fee to cover some printing. This is due to the amount of downloading I use monthly. Also the amount of trees and paper being used along with your ink to print worksheets. These education books are aligned with the Australian curriculum. To my families who pay on time thank you. Kind regards Alison

When we save children from struggle, we prevent them fr...om reaching their full potential. 03.01.2022 This addition machine is hungry for numbers! It shows children that there are multiple ways to get to the same number. It can grow with your children because yo...u can put in any numbers you want. Let me know if you make this addition machine! MATERIALS: - Gift Box style Cardboard Box ( the lid should fold over the top and front) - Box cutter - Two Paper Cups - Pencil - Two Colored Paper Squares - Marker - Tape - Dry Erase Marker - Pom Poms, paper scrunched into balls or any small soft objects INSTRUCTIONS: (1) Take your box and cut the top portion of the lid in half. Remove the half of the lid that's attached to the front, and put it aside. We'll need it for later. (2) Turn the box, so the section we just cut is now the front. This makes the back of the box the new top. On this new top, trace two circles with the bottom of your paper cups, and use the box cutter to cut the circles out. (3) Cut our the bottoms of the paper cups, and place them into the holes. (4) Take the portion of the box we cut off and put in into the cut hole, making a lip to catch the balls and make it easier to take them out. (5) On the coloured paper, write an addition sign on one, and then an equal sign on the other. Tape the "plus" sign on the outside near the cups and the "equal" sign near the inside bottom. (6) Cut two squares of wide tape, and place them on both sides of the plus sign. (7) Write in the numbers with a dry-erase marker (8) Now use the machine to find the answer! Drop paper balls in each cups and count them up! #TheDadLab #playandlearn #homeschool #preschool #montessoriathome #learningthroughplay #montessorikids #learningthroughplay #learningisfun #preschoolteacher #preschoolactivities #preschooler See more
