25.01.2022 B-grade showed a lot of positives were in front in the 3rd but couldn’t finish it off. A grade get a great win against Plympton, ladies day was a hit, great to have footy back at the Den!

24.01.2022 Hi Dragons, For all current and prospective players, pre-season training will commence on Tuesday the 1st of December at Westminster School. Please arrive at 6pm for a 6:15pm start. Training will only go ahead if it adheres to COVID-19 restrictions.... We will provide you all with an update if we can't go ahead with training on that date due to restrictions!

24.01.2022 Hi Dragons Community, What a HUGE weekend we have planned at the Den. The boys take on Golden Grove and it should be a cracking contest in both grades so please get down and cheer on the boys. Both the A & B Grade teams for tomorrow can be seen below.... B-Grade starts at 12:30pm A-Grade starts at 2:15pm Also we have our annual WOSBEENS game commencing at roughly 10:30am. So if you're looking to watch dragon legends of years gone by or a mid morning laugh, come down for a look. Saturday night we have our annual quiz night which has basically been fully booked as there are only a few seats remaining. Presentations & dinners will commence at 6pm. Members draw has increased to a massive $200 this week so make sure you're around the club to win the jackpot. Spin to win will also be run throughout the night. See you all tomorrow!

We have a HUGE Saturday planned to celebrate our first home game.... Firstly, we have our annual ladies day running from 12-5pm which has seen an unprecedented amount of ticket sales. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated and supported the players throughout Movember. With your support it helps breakdown the stigma surrounding men’s mental health. ... Overall, the players collectively raised $1,553 for Movember which will be put towards a great cause. Thanks again to everyone who supported us

16.01.2022 And now for a very exciting announcement! I’d like to welcome Brock Gifford, who has been appointed as our B Grade coach for 2021. Brock was kind enough to pen a little intro, so I’ll let him speak! So like every new guy to the club it is my turn to stand out the front and talk about me. Having spoken to Coach Paul I can assure you all that I am not a Taurus. A quick little run down on my football journey.... I played my first senior game in 1997 and yes I played four games last year. Most of my football has been played in the Adelaide Hills, but I have also experienced the Adelaide, Southern and River Murray Football Leagues. In the 1990's most of my football was in Queensland but I did venture down to Glenelg to play under 19's. In 2002 I embarked on coaching at Blackwood with the under 14's which lead to back to back premierships before heading to Mount Lofty to coach the under 17's which also lead to a premiership. During the early parts of the 2000's I spent six years coaching the Sturt under 15 Country Development Squad. I have coached A grade at three clubs Echunga, Tailem Bend and for the last two years Adelaide Lutheran, which resulted in a Grand Final appearance. I have also coached a various assortment of grades from under 14 all the way up to the three A grade sides. So what brings me to the Dragons ? I felt it was time to learn and further develop my coaching. Having spoken to Paul and Jeremy I was excited about the prospect of working within the Dragons Football Community and the ambition to move into the higher divisions. The club’s emphasis on developing and maintaining a strong culture and ambition to reach the highest division possible is also a motivating factor in joining the Dragons. I look forward to our journey together in 2021. Brock Gifford

This isn't a commitment to play, this is simply saying you may be keen to be a part of the first Women's team for Westminster Old Scholars. We understand the importance of women's footy and we want to be a club that can offer women a place to play. ... We welcome any players who may be interested, no matter your ability! 15.01.2022 Hi Dragons Community, Unfortunately with the new set of restrictions we have decided to postpone/cancel Little Miss Dragon for 2020 as we believe it will be too hard to manage with the new restrictions. However, in its place we have been lucky enough to secure renowned hypnotist Isaac Lomman for the night. See the below link for some of his work on the Port Adelaide Footy Club a few years ago. 10.01.2022 During the preseason our players as part of the camp day visited Foodbank SA HQ on Cross Road near the club. All players brought a donation of food items that were carried down there and we heard from a team member about the work they do helping people in need of food relief. It was relevant then post bushfires and is even more relevant now considering the COVID-19 situation. The group pledged to do more to support and that starts tomorrow with a donation tin at the bar and a... big Purple Wheelie Bin to accept food item donations. If you are coming to the footy tomorrow or at all during the season please bring a donation of food items or money to help this worthy cause on our doorstep. Every bit helps. The Dragons currently compete within Division 3 of the Adelaide Football League. We are entering an exciting expansion period for our club, with the planned inclusion of a C Grade, Women’s Team and Juniors program. Both coaching positions will work closely with our Head Club Coach, Paul Sherwood to support the growth and development of our playing group The successful candidate will have the following traits: - Committed to on-field and off-field development of standards and culture; - A strong communicator - of strategy and expectations. - Proven recruiting networks. - Willingness to work closely with the football department and existing coaching staff. - Clear alignment with our club values Family, Commitment, Community, Respect Playing applicants are preferred however non-playing applicants are also very welcome to apply. 06.01.2022 Hi Draggies Community, We hope you are keeping safe and well during this lockdown. We are a little past half way of Movember and the boys have posted some progress shots of their Mo’s. Some mo’s are starting to look thick whilst others are struggling to be seen!... With the new COVID restrictions in SA, it is now more important than ever that we reach out and check in on a mate to see how they are doing. You never know the impact that a 5 minute phone call could have! The players participating in Movember are passionate about mental health and suicide preventation. The players main aim is to raise awareness around these issues and let people know who may be struggling that there are people out there who will listen to you and help you out in any way you need!
