24.01.2022 Just wanted to reach out and connect with you - each 24 hours we all are living and working in a very different world. This global experience leaves no lives untouched and we are witness to some of the worst unkind selfish and shameful acts (no explanation necessary I’m sure) But it is the selfless, tireless ‘others before self’ actions of front line healthcare professions, leaders and teams and individuals from across all care settings that I want to acknowledge. I just wa...nted to say thank you - every day every shift....thank you. Within large and small business we are now seeing purposeful acts of kindness and genuine concern for community and I know in the wound world we want to be a part of that - supporting those in need. Presenting their Sequential Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (SIPC) pump, our delegates learned the benefits of using this in wound care and were able to practice using the equipment on themselves during our workshops. 17.01.2022 MEET OUR CONFERENCE TEAM Speaker: KERRIE COLEMAN NP Complex Wound Management... Kerrie is a Nurse Practitioner in wound management and was instrumental in setting up the Skin Integrity Service at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Kerrie has approximately 30 years’ experience in wound management and has worked primarily in tertiary hospitals in NSW and Qld. She manages an outpatient wound clinic, provides inpatient consultations and is a resource for the Metro North Health Service District and across Queensland. Kerrie has been a guest lecturer for various universities on wound care as well as providing continuing education programs for the Metro North Health District. Her area of expertise is the lower leg, and wounds such as GVHD and Calciphylaxis she loves a challenge! When asked if she had one wish for skin and wound care, Kerrie replied with a self-adjusting, easy to apply and cost-effective lower limb device that will deliver ongoing compression that the patients and carers can self-apply. Living in the sunny state of Brisbane, Kerrie loves her family time and being involved in the lives of her grandchildren. #WOUNDedConference #SharingLearningGrowing #TalkingWounds

09.01.2022 MEET OUR CONFERENCE TEAM Invited Speaker: Dr Anne Purcell RN NP BN MN PhD Nurse Practitioner Wound Management... Anne Purcell has been authorised as a Nurse Practitioner specialising in wound management for 12 years. Anne has a special interest in holistic wound assessment, wound-related pain, biofilm, the diabetic foot and lower limb ischaemia. Anne completed her PhD at Griffith University Gold Coast and investigated the effectiveness of topical local anaesthesia as a primary dressing for painful chronic leg ulcers. If she could change one thing related to skin and wound care overnight, it would be that all health professionals would take time to listen to their patients and undertake a comprehensive assessment prior to implementing interventions that could potentially harm the individual both physically and psychologically. She has worked in wound management for over 30 years, lecturing for Australian Practice Nurse Association (APNA), GPCE and Wound Busters. Cheryl’s main interest in wound management is in General Practice wound clinic development and training and she holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.... Cheryl is happily working in Kempsey Community Health at the moment and will be establishing a wound clinic on the Gold Coast in Jan Feb 2020.
