In 1951 Australia celebrated The Golden Jubilee and Dubbo was no exception, taking to the sky's to drop 10,000 leaflets over the town with one lucky leaflet rewarding the finder with 10 pounds. . . The Golden Jubilee marked 50 years since Queen Victoria's signature on the Royal Assent, Australia became a Commonwealth. 17.01.2022 Due to Covid-19, the Black Box Creatives had to postpone their 2020 live theatre production season. In its place they developed 'Zoom Theatre', an online project whereby participants helped conceive, develop and present a piece of theatre via a Zoom meeting/conferencing format. 'CHIT-CHAT' The Black Box Creatives - Dubbo is pleased to share Chit-Chat, a ‘Zoom Theatre’ project produced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst learning to live within the sudden social distancing re...strictions of early 2020, our team kept connected and creative, eager to document the extraordinary situation and how our society reacted. Chit-Chat is a raw and touching insight into the lives of two local women living in an aged care facility, whose strength and optimism during the tough times acts as an inspiration to us all. As we anticipate the RAAF developments lets take a look at the original construction of No.6 Stores Depot in 1942. . With the threat of invasion very real in the early years of the war the Australian government began moving military assets inland for protection. In early 1942 Dubbo was chosen and the site for the... RAAF No.6 Stores Depot. By the end of the war it was the largest RAAF Stores Depot in Australia, it continued to operate as military base until the 1990s. . .
