24.01.2022 MSW need your support!!! Matt Conwell was a champion not only in cricket but in football and in life. Matt has been a huge part of the MSW Zone for many years a...nd we would like to recognise all his hard work and support for not only our zone, but for all of his hard work in Qld Junior Cricket. It is with great honour MSW along with Qld cricket are pushing to have Matt's efforts acknowledged by naming the new Superkings sporting field complex after him. The Superkings venue is located at 140 Parkwood Drive Heathwood, between two football fields. It is in an area of our zone Matt was heavily invested in delivering cricket to the community. What we need you to do is sign a petition addressed to the Brisbane City Council to show support of Matt and his endeavours and efforts throughout our zone. Please respectfully among your friends and families and let's hope we are all successful in Matt receiving a fitting acknowledgement for his work. Please click here to sign the petition - closes Friday 6th November https://www.epetitions.brisbane.qld.gov.au/petiti//pid/966

02.01.2022 Hi WPC Cricket members, Families and Friends, The core strength of any club is the work undertaken by its volunteers. WPC cricket is extremely fortunate to have many, many wonderful people, however one particular individual stands out amongst all... For the past twenty five years Ellen Ferris has provided the club with continued service in various roles including that of our Club President. Ellen is currently our Administration Manager, a role which oversees our Grants and... Funding applications. Ellen has excelled in this role and through her effort we have seen the club benefit with the construction of our Lite CJ Nets, Junior and Senior Toilets, the acquisition of new mowers and maintenance equipment, Replacement of our Gabba grass wickets on all three Junior wickets, Funding for Training and development programs, the Extension of the concrete run up to the CJ Nets and the list goes on. At a rough estimate the financial value of all of this would be in excess of $600,000.00. During our last Annual General Meeting it was my great pleasure, on the behalf of the Club to formally recognise Ellen and her incredible contribution by presenting her with the naming sign for the redeveloped Orford Road Junior Oval which will now be known as the WPC Cricket Ellen Ferris Junior Oval... The photo's below show a very happy Ellen being presented with the sign and two further photo's show all three signs installed today. The signs face the car park entry to the ground, the centre wicket and Orford Road. All future MSW games played at this ground will be scheduled as the WPC Cricket, Ellen Ferris Junior Oval. Congratulations Ellen, I hope that the naming of the Junior Oval in your Honour will been seen by ALL as recognition of the incredible longevity of the service and loyalty you have provided to WPC Cricket for the past 25 years. Cheers, Pete Peter Davies Club President WPC Cricket
