16.01.2022 A massive weekend with our Senior teams winning 11 out of 13 games including a win in A1 Grade against last season’s Premiers. This is an equal Club and Association record for the most wins by a Club in a Round equalling a record our Club set back in 2008/09. Star individual performance was from Happy Rana D1 Red who scored 102*, our 495th century. Best Team performance was from our B1 Blue & B1 Red sides who played in the Sheep Station Cup. After losing to the Reds on the first innings the Blues came back to win outright. To cap it off C4 lost with the Opposition 9 down and it the last over of the game. Congratulations to our Junior Player of the Round - Teyana La Brooy from our U13 Sthalaker Girls Team. Teyana took 1/16 and backed it up with an impressive 42 off just 43 balls in a losing side.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to those players achieving major milestones: Tarun Lath (C2 Blue) on reaching his 2,000 run milestone and, Paul Vink (C2 Blue) on taking his 50th career wicket. Also to our latest centurions: Nikhil Ninan (B1 Blue) with his highest score of 151 (our 496th century) & Gavin Taylor (A1) with 114 (our 497th century) and his 4th ton.... We also had a record opening partnership in Juniors of 195* between Himantha Walawage (97*) and Oscar Irwin (83*) for the U15 Purple’s. Junior records are a little difficult to track due to the large number of manual records but this is the highest opening partnership since 1990.

11.01.2022 We made it! A 7-week delay but now just 1 day to go with only wet weather to beat. We go into our 90th season with record Team entrances in Juniors (40 Teams) and Seniors (13 Teams) plus amazing rego’s still coming in for Girls and Junior Blasters! A massive callout to our amazing volunteers who have managed to achieve all this in a Covid-19 world and ensure that everyone gets a game. Please make sure that you are aware of the new Covid-19 Playing Rules (website News) as our ...priority is keeping all of our families safe. Child protection is another major priority at our club and we have once again endorsed and signed the Cricket Australia ‘Looking After our Kids’ policy. Everyone should be familiar with both our Club & personal obligations on this important issue. Check out the 3 short Youtube videos at this link to learn more about how we can keep our kids safe www.wphccc.com.au/category/child-protection/ We hope that all of our players, parents and supporters enjoy every minute of the season and don’t forget how lucky we are to be in NSW and playing cricket. Good luck to all our players and a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who have helped us to be ready for the first ball tomorrow!

11.01.2022 By popular request our acclaimed Academy is running again for U11 to U17s plus a dedicated program for our Girls. We are the only Club that offers anything like this with high quality skills Coaching by Premier 1st Grade players from Northern District Cricket Club morning plus our own home grown coaches. The Academy starts on the 12th October and runs for 10 weeks with a program that covers skills training on all aspects of the game including Game sense and Innovation. The ...cost is a ridiculously low $225 for 10 weeks compared to programs run by external providers that are significantly more expensive without any difference in quality. We start on 12th October, 2 weeks before the season starts to get you ready for the first match. We are proud of the reputation the Academy has built and this season will be even better. If you want to signup then contact our Juniors Director, Buzz Burrows [email protected] to make sure of a place as we cap numbers at 18 to keep our Coach / participant ratio to 1:6. How can we do it so cheaply? Simple - this is such an important initiative that our Club subsidises the cost so that it is affordable for anyone who wants to take their game to the next level. Check out the flyer below for all the info!

02.01.2022 After the most amazing pre-season on record we finally start playing cricket this Saturday! Something that 6 months ago seemed impossible. The Association has released its COVIDSafe playing rules and everyone who is involved as a Player, Coach, Manager or supporter needs to read and understand the Rules to make sure we are doing our bit to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Our website www.wphccc.com.au ‘News section’ has the Policy listed so please make sure you read it bef...ore Saturday. Also check out the Photo Gallery ‘Miscellaneous’ section to see photos from our Level 1 Coaching program on Sunday which was delivered in partnership with Cricket NSW.

02.01.2022 All games cancelled for Saturday 19/12 The Association has advised that due to the growing Covid-19 cluster on Sydney’s northern beaches, all play in all Grades has been abandoned play for Saturday 19th December. The Association has advised: The executive has made the difficult decision in the interest of the welfare of players, coaches and parents. We believe this is a responsible approach to the health alert in helping reduce the risk of spread.... Earlier today CNSW cancelled games in the NSW men’s and women’s Premier and Shire competitions, as well as postponing the NSW Youth Championship grand finals. This was based on CA’s chief medical officer’s advice of the strong possibility that the outbreak will extend to other parts of Sydney. A shame but the right decision has been made and one we support as a Club.

02.01.2022 Registrations are open and the season is fast approaching just 35 days until the first ball is bowled on 24th October. If you have a child that is U18 don’t forget to use the Active Kids Voucher when registering. We have just clocked over our 300th Registration that is using the Active Kids Voucher meaning that West Penno families have saved $30,000 in Rego fees so far! Make sure you register soon to make sure you get to play with your mates!
