13.01.2022 ***2021 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT*** The West Preston Lakeside Football Club has great pleasure in announcing the 2021 Senior coaching panel. ROB MAIORANA has again committed to leading the Senior Men’s team for 2021. We are really pleased to have Rob at the helm again; the experience and knowledge he brings to the club is second to none and he’ll continue to develop our young group of players.... Assisting Rob will be JUSTIN SHERMAN. The club is really excited to welcome Justin to the Rooster family. He brings extensive AFL experience and importantly, Justin will also take on a development role at the club to further improve our pathways to senior football. We would also like to welcome Justin’s family wife Bianca and kids Reef & Shayla to the Roosters. Further announcements regarding other assistant coaches will be made in due course. SCOTT PYWELL will again be reserves coach for 2021. Scotty was a fantastic addition to the club last year bringing with him vast experience in local footy and just a great man to have around the club. Thanks for going again Scotty. ALEX STOIKOS has put his hand up to coach the under 19’s for 2021. A current player, Stoiks takes on the important task of developing out 19’s for senior footy. The club is thrilled to see a player giving back and taking on this important role. Welcome to the coaching ranks Alex! Another very important role at West is the coach of the Senior Women’s team and the club is extremely pleased to announce PAUL TILLEY as the Senior Women’s coach for 2021. Paul brings and immense amount of experience to the role including coaching the Calder Cannons under 18 girls in the TAC cup and we all look forward to the development of the women’s program under Paul. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank NIALL McDONAGH who stepped into the coaching role in 2019. He did a fantastic job in bringing the women and club closer together and growing the football knowhow of the group through his knowledge and passion. I’m sure we’ll see him still helping around the place next year. Thanks again Niall.

12.01.2022 ***BREAKING NEWS*** Further to last night’s coaching announcement & after negotiations concluded at 2:33am this morning, we are thrilled to confirm that everyones favourite Strength & Conditioning Coach will be back in 2021. Part of the terms of his contract were that due to his popularity, Paul Bacash - also known as Witness, Coach Carter, The Weapon, Stephen Dank & Hutchy - would get his own post! 08.01.2022 VALE Mavis Crapper We are sad to announce the passing of the well loved Mavis Crapper on Saturday 21st November. Wife to Les, Mother to Phil (Icey), Rick (Cooly), Kaye and Lynne. Grandmother to our players Liam, Jedd, Mitchell and Joel. Her years extend back to storing and transporting the caravan that used to be the canteen back at Zwar Park in the 60s & 70s. We extend our sympathies to the Crapper family during this time. Mavis was a beautiful lady and loved by so many at our club, she will be dearly missed.
