25.01.2022 AHOY, ME HEARTIES! Today we had a wonderful day together outside exploring all things PIRATE for "Talk Like a Pirate Day." The children looked amazing dressed as pirates today and had a ball exploring the seas together! ... Today we engaged in activities such as walking the plank, treasure play dough, sea animal exploration and our treasure hunt! Such a fun day.
24.01.2022 Wishing all of our children, families and staff a safe and happy Christmas. Enjoy your day and make some wonderful memories!
23.01.2022 Wishing all of our Dads, Step-Dads and Grandfathers, a very special day. Dads are the best superheroes of all
23.01.2022 Happy Holi everyone! What fun we had today celebrating "Holi," the Indian festival of colour and love. Everybody joined together to throw colours and spread joy about. And to enhance our experience, we added water to experiment with, watching the colours blend, swirl and change. It was particularly fun to throw water at our Educators!
22.01.2022 To all of our wonderful staff, Happy Early Childhood Educators' Day! We appreciate all of your hard work, love and dedication. You are the best! ... Early Childhood Educators' Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia's Educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. It's a chance to say thank you to Australia’s early childhood Educators on a very personal level by service operators, families and their children, as well as collectively at the national level.
20.01.2022 Each morning in our group yarning circle, we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Quandamooka People, followed by stories and songs. This song is our favourite, and Ada's as well

18.01.2022 BREAKING: Start planning your holiday! We’re opening Queensland for Queenslanders from noon tomorrow. Queenslanders will be able to undertake unlimited travel, ...including overnight stays throughout the entire state, in a major easing of COVID-19 restrictions. More locals will be allowed in cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs, with an increase in the number of patrons from 10 to 20. From noon on Friday, June 5, venues with more space will be allowed up to 20 people in each defined area if they follow an approved COVID Safe Industry Plan. Well done, Queensland. Our state’s outstanding response to the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed restrictions to be lifted ahead of a planned move to Stage Two originally scheduled for June 12. 16.01.2022 Did you know there’s a safe way to cough? Teach us kids to tuck our head and cough into our elbow like a vampire in their cape.
15.01.2022 Happy International Mud Day! This day aims for children to feel closer to each other, and covered in mud, we all look the same. Our children had so much fun making deep pools of sludge, mixing, pouring, measuring, investigating, rolling in mud, dirt and getting very messy. ... Playing in mud boosts the body's immune system, and the friendly bacteria in soil activates neurons responsible for making serotonin, the brain chemical that makes us happy!
15.01.2022 Reading with young children is one of the best things you can do to help them build their early literacy and get them ready for future learning. It's never t...oo early to start - you can read to children right from birth! Don't worry if kids don't want to read all the way to the end, when you share stories and chat together about them your child is still getting the benefits of this special time. If your child wants to read the same book over and over again that's great! Repetition helps them to learn. 15.01.2022 Ruok? We are here to support you. If you feel like something’s not quite the same with someone you know there’s something going on in their life or you notice a change in what they’re saying or doing - trust that gut instinct and take the time to ask them Are you OK? If someone says they’re not OK, make time to listen, encourage action and check in. That conversation could change, or even save, their life. Ruok.org.au
13.01.2022 By this point your kids would have noticed that a lot of their regular routines have changed, but still might not fully understand why. Having a coronavirus (CO...VID-19) conversation with the whole family can help them to understand why things are changing, and can also be an opportunity for them to explain how they're feeling too. Our friends at Beyond Blue have some great advice on starting conversations with your kids, with specific information and talking points tailored to each age group. We've linked off below

13.01.2022 Look at our Red Noses! Today was Red Nose Day, and we painted our noses red to raise awareness for SIDS. The children thought they looked hilarious!
11.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day, ladies!
10.01.2022 UPDATED HEALTH ADVICE To help prevent any further spread of COVID-19, Queenslanders must minimise the number of people they come into contact with. O...nly leave your home if it’s absolutely necessary. You can do so with members of your household or with one other person who is not a member of your household. Permitted reasons to leave your home are listed below. For a residence or household, the number of people allowed to gather in that house is limited to the usual members of that household, plus two other visitors who are family or close friends. We strongly urge people aged over 70, anybody over 65 with a chronic disease, and Indigenous people over 50 to stay at home for their own protection. You are now only allowed to leave your home if absolutely necessary for the following permitted reasons. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in a fine up to $1,330 for individuals and $6,670 for corporations. > To obtain essential goods and services > Receive medical treatment or health care services > Exercise > Do work or volunteering that is essential and cannot be done from home (this is any type of work that is not restricted under the latest ‘non-essential business activity and undertaking closure’ direction) > Visit another person’s home, as long as there are no more than 2 visitors who do not usually live there > Visit a terminally ill relative or attend a funeral > Assist, care for or support immediate family members > Attend a Court or tribunal or comply with a Court or tribunal order > Attend a childcare facility, school, university, or other educational institution to receive instruction that is not possible to receive at home > Assist with an investigation by police or other law enforcement authority > All shared custody arrangements of children under 18 years of age, whether informal or court-ordered, can continue as normal. You are allowed to leave home to take children from one parent’s home to the other parent’s home > To avoid illness, injury or the risk of harm > To comply with directions of a government agency.

06.01.2022 How do you get any work done at home when the kids are around whether on holidays or learning from home? Maggie chatted with productivity researcher Dr Kristy... Goodwin in the latest episode of Parental As Anything, about her top strategies for working at home with kids around. Including the "three before me".... which is ask three other people (if that's an option in your house or if your kids are online with friends or teachers) OR try three other things before interrupting me. Kristy isn't just a researcher either... she's been working from home with 3 little boys for years now. Perhaps you've got some tips for getting SOME work done while you've got the kids at home with you?? And if you haven't listened to the episode yet, you can find it here (or at ABC Listen, Apple Podcasts or most places your get your podcasts): https://www.abc.net.au//how-to-manage-working-fro/12164134
