25.01.2022 From all of us here at Wakefield Regional Council, we want to wish all residents a happy and safe holiday. This season is a time to spend with our loved ones and to enjoy our families' own special traditions. While SA is lucky to have more freedom than other parts of the country, it's important to stay home and not attend gatherings if you are feeling unwell. The one present you don't want to give your family and friends this Christmas is COVID-19. ... Remember, COVID testing stations are open over the festive season. Testing stations near me: https://bit.ly/37Gw6e5 Our Council Office in Balaklava will remain closed until January 4, 2021, resuming with normal operating hours (9am to 5pm). Kerbside waste collection goes unchanged, however, our transfer stations will shutdown Christmas Day and New Years Day, and when a Fire Danger Day is called by CFS. See you in 2021.

22.01.2022 The Department for Trade and Investment is seeking EOIs from export support service providers to aid growing SA businesses in expanding their international footprint as part of the Global Expansion Program. The aim of the Program is to accelerate SA's export growth by building comprehensive export capability. In 2020 to 2021, up to 15 businesses will receive up to $50,000 in funding per participant to access tailored export support services. These successful participants will... be able to select suitable service providers in order to address any gaps in their export capability. The Department is looking to engage with potential suppliers who can appropriately assist Program participants in navigating export challenges and barriers. Service providers that have a track record of providing export support for growing exporters are encouraged to submit their expression of interest by providing the Department with information on their capabilities. For more information and to submit your EOI as a service provider, visit the Industry Capability Network website: globalexpansionprogram.icn.org.au.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to our newest Citizens! Being a Citizen is a critical part of building our nation and seeing people take this sometimes emotional step is one of Mayor Reid's favourite duties. Yesterday, we held our Citizenship Ceremonies and saw eight people take the Pledge of Commitment. They state their loyalty to Australia, its people and its democracy, and promise to uphold all the laws, rights and liberties that we are lucky to share.

In Balaklava, Council CEO Andrew MacDonald, who served in the Gulf War, laid a wreath alongside elected members and staff. ... At the going down of the sun and in the morning: we will remember them.
