25.01.2022 The 2020 RCRA ACT Titles was my first outing with the WRC STX6. After a busy week I finished building the car on the Thursday night before practice started on Friday, so little chance to have a shakedown run. I had four runs in practice, with slight changes between each improving the car for qualifying on Saturday, for a summary of changes see the last paragraph. Qualifying went well with the car proving to be reliable and fast requiring virtually no attention aside from a cl...ean between runs. Tyre preparation was critical to being competitive in the ISTC 13.5 class, unfortunately I was so busy during the meeting I would frequently forget to start my tyre warmers. After the last round of qualifying was completed I placed 6th on the grid for the finals. During the first final I found myself in 4th place and able to hold position for most of the run only to lose two positions after missing an apex by less than a metre in the last minutes of the race. The second and third finals were less successful after I made a mistake (leg 2) and being caught up in someone elses incident in leg 3 costing me significant time and track position. Unfortunately those two low finishes in the finals dropped me to 9th overall. The WRC STX6 performed beautifully all weekend without a mechanical problem across all 13 runs. The car proved to be responsive to setup changes and more than strong enough to cope with the cut and thrust of racing at the highest level. My car was setup as per kit settings with the following changes: Diff oil 5000k Springs WRC Blue all round Front Shock position lent as far inboard as possible Rear Shock position stood up as much as possible Rear bar 1.2mm (could have gone back to 1.3mm for the finals) front inboard upper links - +1mm front camber 2deg rear camber 1.5deg body shell Zoo Racing 0.7mm DBX, forward +4mm lightweight front bumper Motor HW G3R 13.5 Timing 45deg (as per box) Gearing 4.5 Tyres Volante 36 (spoke wheel) Treatment light clean with Volante purple and warmed for 20mints at 55deg (warm day 25deg to 30deg)

19.01.2022 Awesome day of racing at XRAY RACE Series 2019 Round 2 in Canberra. The WRC STX017 was great, we were sitting third over all in 21.5 after Q1, however a few mistakes by myself put us in 6th overall after qualifying. Shame we had to abandon the finals (due to rain) as there was definitely scope to make up some positions! Looking forward to the next one!

17.01.2022 WRC Australia team driver Nic Cresswell has just completed converting his WRC STX’017 to STX.7 specification. A series of photos showing the build process, and some of the differences between the STX’017 and STX.7 can be seen in the album linked below. The major difference between the two chassis is the change from rear, to a mid motor layout. Other updates include new low profile shocks, low suspension towers and revised servo mount, flat top deck, and updated DSR steeri...ng system. Nic will be competing in local 21.5t class events with the new car. Its first club day outing was a success, with a noticeable improvement in stability, and consistency, as the set-up of the car improved throughout the day. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/

16.01.2022 WRC Racing Australia are super pleased to Welcome Nic Cresswell to the Team! He will be piloting the STX Touring Car whenever and wherever he can! Nic will also be assisting with the running of the WRC Racing Australia Facebook Page - Hooray!

15.01.2022 Ready to race for 2020 with a fresh coat of paint on the new Mon-Tech YSOT!

15.01.2022 We went racing! CV19 restrictions in Canberra have relaxed (just enough) to get us back on the track! Ive been hanging out to get back on the track, I had finished building my WRC STX7 just as the restrictions came in to effect. So after 8 weeks of looking at it, it was time to see what all the fuss is about with these new mid-mount cars.... Qualifying was over within a lap as I had not tightened a particular screw and resulted in the motor unmeshing the pinion and spur. No harm was done but my qualifying was ruined and I would be starting from the back for the finals. The first Final was OK coming in third, just 2 seconds off a 17 lap run. the STX7 was easy to drive and very consistent. I decided to change tyres for the next final and things picked up, coming in second, adding a lap to my overall time and getting closer to eventual winner Nathan. In final three things were close, unfortunately, I came off third best with a body tuck costing me 5 seconds. After recovering I set about to see what I could do and was surprised to see I was running down second-place driver Steve for second place. The STX7 is definitely a big step up of the STX6. The mid-motor design increases the agility of the car while maintaining stability and consistency. Im looking forward to the next racing meeting. #rc #tinycar #essentialrc #stc #wrc #RadioControl #RemoteControl

08.01.2022 Had a great day racing the WRC STX.7 at the Kambah track today. The meeting was our third club day back after the CV19 shut down and the ISTC 13.5 class had attracted a quality field. I was happy when I secured pole for the finals and even happier when I backed it up by taking a win in all three finals. The STX.7 was fast and reliable all day and a pleasure to race.
