20.01.2022 Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions we will be only doing rescues that are emergencies But please feel free to contact us for advice and further information if you find an animal in need of help

20.01.2022 Well it’s that time of year again when the baby birds start coming in here is one that had fallen from its nest

19.01.2022 Well rescues are starting to become more frequent as the weather warms up here are a couple of relocations we have done this week

19.01.2022 WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND A BABY BIRD Fledglings will regularly be found on the ground as they attempt to leave the nest for the first time and can remain on the ground for 3 - 4 days sometimes longer. This is a normal part of the process of learning to fly and the parents will be around somewhere keeping a close eye on them. If you find a fledgling and you are concerned about an animal injuring them, you can create a bird bucket to put them back up in the tree:... 1. Find an old plastic bucket, ice-cream container or plant pot, and punch several holes in the underside. 2. In the bottom of your plastic container, set down a layer of grass or leaves, so that the baby bird has some warm and comfortable bedding to rest on. 3. In order to assist the parents getting in and out, place a stick in the container at an angle, and secure it using one of the holes. 4. Place the baby bird inside the container. The bucket should be hung close to where the baby was found, in a tree or a bush, out of direct sunlight and away from predators. 5. Keep an eye on the bird in the bucket, and make sure the parents return before dark to tend the baby’s needs. If the parents do not return, the baby bird will need to be placed into care.
