14.01.2022 please ensure you are up to date If you received Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for 2018-19, you must confirm your income with Centrelink. This includes CCS paid directly to you and CCS paid on your behalf to a child care provider. Most parents have already confirmed their income, but if you haven’t, do it now.... If you don’t confirm your 2018-19 income by 30 June 2020, your CCS will stop from 13 July 2020. To confirm your income with Centrelink, you and your partner need to either: 1. lodge your tax returns with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO); or 2. complete an ‘Advise non-lodgement of tax return’ with Centrelink, if you don’t need to lodge a tax return. You complete the ‘Advise non-lodgement of tax return’ in your Centrelink online account through myGov or your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. If you’ve already confirmed your family income for 2018-19, there’s nothing else you need to do. Find out more about Child Care Subsidy on the Services Australia website.

07.01.2022 Exciting new playground for WSACC children to enjoy during outside hours care and holiday care Along with the recently completed undercover court, WSACC has been able to benefit from these new facilities thanks to St Mary of the Cross School!

07.01.2022 Covid-19 Planning Dear WSACC Community, Firstly we would like to thank the WSACC community for the caring and courteous manner in which they have been communicating and interacting with us in these difficult and ever evolving times. Our team has been working extremely hard with limited resources to meet expectations around social distancing and hygiene.... You might have noticed that we have implemented a new strategy to minimise risk within our centre and to the community around our sign in/out routine. This strategy has the duel effect of reducing the bottleneck in the house around our sign in/out space and the number of people in that space touching iPads. To this end, a Lead Educator will be in the car park to sign in/out on your behalf and to call your child/ren up for collection. They will be able to field any questions you might have and take booking changes. We hope that you see the benefit in this strategy in support of social distancing strategies. Please access the carpark for drop off and collection rather than entering the house or central. This may take some extra time and your patience is appreciated. A number of our more vulnerable staff are taking time off work. However, we have many Educators reliant upon our employment for their primary income. In these uncertain times we need to plan and inform our team on the likelihood of continued work. As we move towards the Autumn/Easter vacation period we are planning a reduced program with a centre based program. We also expect a significantly reduced utilisation of our service during this period and would appreciate your expression of interest in care for work related purposes where required. By this evening we will have dates available on our booking website www.holidaycare.com.au so that you can indicate an intention to use care. Please note that we expect many families still have uncertainty around their care needs so we will definitely remove bookings throughout next week as needed. Bookings taken up until the end of the school term will be considered an expression of interest and no cancelation fees will apply. The regular cancelation policy will be in effect thereafter. If you are unable to use the booking website, please email your bookings to [email protected]. Educators and Management Committee wish you and your family all the best during these difficult times. Regards, Kathryn Mahoney Service Coordinator WSACC Management Committee

01.01.2022 Term 2 - Update 2 As you are probably aware, the Queensland Government has announced that students in prep and year one will be returning to school and participating in classroom learning from Monday 11th May, 2020. In order to help us plan and organise staffing and programming for next week, we ask that all families who this may affect and who will require their children to attend WSACC next week, please communicate their care needs to us as soon as possible via [email protected] At this stage, assuming that the low transmission rates of Covid-19 continue, it is expected that students in years 2 6 will return to school on Monday 25th May 2020.
