Every day is different when you volunteer for Social Support Groups (approximatetly 6 hours of volunteering on any given weekday). Social Support Individual is assistance provided to an individual, either within the home environment or whilst accessing community services. It is primarily directed towards meeting the persons need for social contact and / or company in order to participate in community life. We are seeking friendly volunteers to support this service. 19.01.2022 We are looking for volunteers to assist with our community programs. The number of clients is going up, and so is our demand for more volunteers. Please share our need to family, friends, co-workers, civic groups, and local businesses. Do you have a few hours to spare, even for just one day per month?? If so, please consider becoming a volunteer for our Meals on Wheels service. Deliver a meal and experience first-hand the joy a meal and a visit can bring to someone’s life.... It only takes about two hours a day and truly makes a difference in the lives of people in this community. We are also looking for friendly volunteers to help assist our staff in running our Social Support Groups. Every day is different when you volunteer for Social Support Groups. Tasks may include assisting in the pickup / drop off clients in our vehicles, help with running group activities, assisting in the kitchen with tea and coffee and other program support tasks as required (approximately 6 hours of volunteering on any given weekday). Social Support Individual provides individual support, either within the home environment or whilst accessing community services. It is primarily directed towards meeting the person's need for social contact and / or company in order to participate in community life. We are seeking friendly volunteers to support this service. You might transport a client to an appointment, visit a client in their home and enjoy a cuppa and a chat, or even assist with shopping (approximately 2-4 hours). Our community needs all the help it can get right now, especially the elderly. They might not vocalise it, but there is a good chance they could really use a helping hand. For anyone interested: Please give us a call on 4677 2524 or email us on [email protected]

14.01.2022 Volunteers Day is normally celebrated in May during Volunteers Week. Whilst a little different this year, we wanted to acknowledge our wonderful volunteers. Due to COVID restrictions we had to limit a volunteers celebration. It was decided to invite volunteers who had a milestone of 5, 10, 15 & 20 years service to attend an afternoon tea to honour their contribution. It was here that we also announced our Volunteer of the Year. Please congratulate David who assists IC Care with all services whenever the need arises. We wish we could have celebrated the generous contribution of our wonderful volunteers but 2020 has seen a change to the way we usually celebrate such events. We hope that 2021 bring normality to these types of days. Thank you to all our volunteers, your contribution makes a real difference to the lives of our clients.
