20.01.2022 The International >> White Ribbon Day << is a global campaign active in more than 60 countries around the world, established by the United Nations on November 25th. It's slogan for this year is '"The World Is Orange'". It is a campaign that aims to support women's rights and raise awareness whilst also making women's safety and rights a men's issue. It contributes to limiting and trying to end violence against women, promoting healthy relationships and equality, and to break... the silence to provide the necessary assistance for those experiencing violence by men. It also aims to educate and guide young people on social issues regarding this subject, the most important of which are combating and eliminating domestic violence, calling for the rights of gender equality, ensuring women and children's protection and creating new opportunities for men to build positive, healthy and respectful relationships. In Australia, the day was moved from November 25th to November 23th in 2018, so that both movements that combat violence against women and violence against children are joined together. On this day, and every day throughout the year, Western Sydney Community Centre raises awareness of violence against women, encouraging men to support women’s groups in the movement by wearing a white ribbon in support of women's and children's safety, and to spread awareness of this campaign.
