21.01.2022 Morning runs with Nuggo

20.01.2022 This is a sad.. but exciting day! All our lovely girls have been moved on. We take the time to re-home each and every one of our hens to backyard keepers, not only is it so much more ethical but they make excellent layers for home producers for many more years! On the positive we have some new young ladies moving in tonight. We raised them from day old chickens which makes it even more special, they are just at the point of starting to lay. We will share some photos in the coming days of the transition

19.01.2022 A minor delay but we are ready for the new hens to move into their 5-star coop! .. look at all that forage, tons of bugs and insects hiding in amongst the long grass

14.01.2022 The hot weather isn’t bothering the hens today. Thankfully we have a cooling wind from the south ... the ladies are out ranging and a few having a good ol’ dust bath

14.01.2022 Today we met John from Yendon Gourmet Tomatoes, we are super excited to announce we will be selling our eggs at their farmgate shop! What's more, they also have some other produce there to pick from! Local honey from Lal Lal, as well as their own grown strawberries, and various varieties of hydroponically grown tomatoes. We picked up a bag of 'Choc Mate' tomatoes, paired with an egg on sourdough for a Saturday morning brekky you can't go wrong... oh and don't forget the butter! Have you been for a visit to Yendon Gourmet Tomatoes? Perfect for a weekend drive to get some high quality local produce.

10.01.2022 : Instagram Vs Reality We always try to get ‘nice’ photos of Nugget, but sometimes he pulls some funny doggo faces too good not to post. Sorry Nugget... and enjoy everyone!

08.01.2022 The hens are loving the warm, humid and cloudy weather. As you can see they have spread far and wide.. tons of insects, green herbs and grass currently out on pasture. Such a good sight!

08.01.2022 Sunday morning traffic jam

06.01.2022 We have one lady who was missed last night! Should we keep her in our backyard flock? Any name suggestions? Leave yours below! She has made herself at home in our backyard, making the 100m trek from the coop out in the paddock .. plenty to see and do in the homestead garden

05.01.2022 -Farm Gate Stock Update- Our pullet eggs have now finished up, thanks to everyone who has purchased them over the past couple of months! We are now selling the 600g size egg by the tray for those who love good value! Purchase by the tray and SAVE! 1.5kg tray $10 (600g eggs, 2.5 dozen) 600gram dozen ($5)... 700gram dozen ($6) 800gram Jumbo 10 pack ($7) Limited availability See more

03.01.2022 There’s lots of reasons not to leave your door open in the chicken paddock... this is one of them! (hens will try to lay eggs inside the Ute!)

02.01.2022 Our eggs are now available for purchase in Buninyong! Drop in to Pig & Goose General Foodstore to pick up a dozen. They have so many other homemade and local goodies for purchase also!

02.01.2022 I think the girls are trying to tell us something .. this is the ‘you must eat your veggies before your desert’ moment of egg farming. We feed a mix crushed grain feed, they will always eat the best grains first and leave the rest til last.. it doesn’t take long for them to associate us with the food source, especially with a bucket in our hand!
