16.01.2022 A friendly reminder to slow down and appreciate Country. This art piece on the Reid Highway was a collaborative effort between WSP, the Mains Roads WA Noongar Reference Group, Noongar artists Yondee Shane Hansen and Barbara Bynder, and Perth street artist Drew Straker. It’s an interpretation of relevant site themes of Country, animals and people in an innovative and colourful way using Straker’s ‘Neon’ spray paint street art style. Noongar moieties, like the black duck and ...the theme of the 8 Noongar seasons and Noongar shields were used as main drivers for the piece. Thanks to our contractor partner DECMIL and principal client Main Roads Western Australia who were key to the co-design and delivery of these amazing outcomes that celebrate Noongar Country and its people. #WeAreWSP #ThrivingCommunities #NAIDOC2020
