This action involved the 2nd Divis...ion’s 6th Infantry Brigade. It was also the first time the 2nd Pioneer Battalion, which specialised in road building and other light engineering tasks, was deployed in an infantry assault. At 6.05am, Australian troops launched an attack on the village to breach the final elaborate German defence system on the Beaurevoir Line. The Australians achieved their objectives at a cost of around 430 casualties. #LestWeForget Australian War Memorial
