25.01.2022 A contemporary service for Sunday 23rd August: In the sermon this week, I challenge people as to who they say Jesus is. Please pray that the Lord will touch people’s hearts and lives and draw those who don’t know him, to see who Jesus really is and turn to him in repentance and trust. These services were filmed in the church at Forbes and my thanks to the office manager and LLM John Berger, for reading the Bible readings. Both services include an interview I filmed last week with the archbishop of Sydney, Dr Glenn Davies, on the impact of COVID-19. https://youtu.be/vRVSt2bH6TY

For the contemporary service, you are invited to have your own bread and wine ready to share at the appropriate time as we ‘do this in remembrance’ of Jesus who died and rose again for us. https://youtu.be/86-Z6L-iAIY

18.01.2022 A Traditional Service for Sunday 13th September: This service was filmed in the church at Fitzgeralds Valley. Sadly due to the noise of the wind in the background, I had to use the sermon and prayers I recorded later in the day for the contemporary service. However, the remainder of the service including Holy Communion is from the church. Please excuse the background noise. https://youtu.be/bv1Gw0ITcFc

16.01.2022 Next Sunday 29th November is the first Sunday in Advent and our special Advent series "A Day is Coming", will commence. Here's the outline for the four Sundays in Advent: 1. We will be with the Lord forever 1 Thess 4:13-18 2. We don’t know when 1 Thess 5:1-11 3. Where is this coming!? 2 Peter 3:1-10 4. In the mean time 2 Peter 3:11-18... The traditional service is a Holy Communion service, and I remind people that if they repent of their sins and give thanks for Jesus' death and resurrection, then they feed on Christ in their heart by faith. Every blessing for this Advent season as we wait and hope. 01.01.2022 Service for Sunday 11th October: This Sunday there is just one combined service. It is a little different, but I hope helpful!! In the sermon, we explore Jesus’ parable of the wedding feast as he continues to challenge the religious leaders about the fact that they have not received him or taken their place in God’s kingdom, while the least expected have done so! The service was filmed indoors on that very cold weekend Saturday 26th September hence I am sitting at home by... the fire!! Commencing Nov 8, we will begin a 3 week series called The joy of giving Nov 8 Giving ourselves Romans 12:1-2 Nov 15 Giving sacrificially 2 Cor 8 Nov 22 Giving cheerfully 2 Cor 9 Included for this series will be pre-reading notes, the sermon (and services), and discussion group questions for small groups to use in the week following the sermon. My prayer is that this series will be used across the diocese and help us all think through a Biblical view of giving. Finally, can I commend to you the opportunity to support the new position in our cathedral. The Rev’d Phil Howes will join the staff there next year and begin a new contemporary service. But the cathedral has no funds for such a role. We need 100 people willing to contribute 1,000 to make this happen. OR of course 400 people to contribute just $250. local church, Please be generous as you can either as a once off or on a regular basis. Thank you! I’ve attached a flyer which explains a little about the role. Please go to our website to find the order of service, prayers and readings for this week along with the fundraising form: www.wwanglican.org Every blessing Mark The Right Reverend Mark Calder Bishop of the Diocese of Bathurst Anglican Church of Australia p: 02 6331 1722 e: [email protected] https://youtu.be/qjSRwUlpWlA See more
