Many of you have been asking for some neck shoulders tension release sequences, this is highly effective and you can practice it on-the-go wherever you are to stretch & ease your neck and shoulders! . BE CAREFUL! The neck is a sensitive part of the body! You never want to force yourself into a deeper stretch. Move to the point where you feel a stretch, but not further! And if anything feels painful/bad, please skip that pose completely! .... 1. Take one calming breathe 2. On Inhale, stretch your sensitive side hand in front with your wrist reverse stretched and extend on the side 3. On Exhale, stretch your neck on opposite side and hold it for 4 breathes 4. Then stretch it little bit in front side for 4 breathes and then little bit back side for 4 breathes 5. Come back in the middle 6. And repeat the same sequence on other side with 3 breathes in each stretch if you get pain on only one side. If the pain is on both sides, do same amount of breathes on both sides. TO FEEL THE MOST BENEFIT OUT OF THESE POSE MOVE SLOW: This helps you enjoy the stretch instead of rushing to the next move . BREATHE: Breathe as deep as you can to relax and soften the muscles that are feeling tense! . SHOULDERS & JAW: Notice if you tighten the shoulders or clench the jaw. This is common for a lot of us, and can lead to neck strain. Breathing practice with count This is a short practice to steadiness in your mind, really useful when you're feeling agitated and your thoughts are all over the place.... 1. Start with natural breathes, noticing what you are feeling in your body - practice for few breathes 2. Introducing deeper longer breathe (ujjayi breathe) for few rounds 3. Incorporating count in your breathe, can start with 3 count or 4 count on your Inhale and Exhale. Also natural pause after every Inhale and Exhale. Repeat few times. 4. Keep increasing breathe count until it feels comfortable and also add longer pause after each breathe. You can add about 2-3 seconds pause after each Exhale and 1-2 seconds pause after each Inhale. Repeat few times. 5. Slowly removing pause on each breathe, then count and coming back to natural breathe. MIND: Notice your mibd activity before and after the practice, journal it if you can BODY: notice if you are tightening your jaw or any other body parts and mindfully relax, spreading the peacefulness through your body You can practice this anytime during the day and experience the benefits.
