22.01.2022 Nerium concerns addressed: 1: Transient stinging may occur. This will reside once the skin is acclimated to the product it generally takes 3-7 days. This is very common with powerful medical grade skincare products. 2: Peeling of the skin may occur. Nerium is a rapid cell turnover product. Shedding skin will subside in 7-10 days of initial use. People who have used a Vitamin A product like, isotrentinoin, or retin A are more likely to peel. Vitamin A (unlike Nerium) products ...are fat soluble and take time to eliminate from the body. Slow the Nerium down to every other night to start. 3: Darkening of spots may occur. Nerium will bring deeper pigment to the surface and then eradicate it. Lighter spots are more superficial and will clear much quicker. Be patient! As pigment rises and clears cells are being repaired and replaced with normal healthy skin cells. 4: Rarely, and I mean less than a 2% margin of Nerium users are allergic to something in the product. This is the same as having a random shellfish allergy. Itchy raised hives are what a true reaction to Nerium would look and feel like. Other than this, it's most often a brief stage. When in doubt, cut it out. Process of elimination is the way to know for sure. 5: Puffy or itchy eyes is occasionally an issue for some Nerium users. The eyelids have extremely thin skin and although most of us love our Nerium around our eyes, sadly some just can't. Try using Nerium mixed with a cucumber gel because this often helps around the eyes. 6: Acne may rear before it clears, this is called purging. It happens as the cell turnover increases and impurities rise to the surface. Mild acne products may be used during the day and Nerium at night.
