24.01.2022 Have you been working out? It’s important that you fuel for exercise to build muscle. Post-workout - Protein is key for building muscle. Your protein requirements will vary depending on your weight, however a good place to start is aiming for at least 60-80g of protein across the day, especially 20-25g post-workout. Protein sources include chicken, meat, fish, eggs, legumes, tofu, tempeh, low fat dairy and protein powders. An easy way to track your protein intake is by using My Fitness Pal or Easy Diet Diary. We also recommend consulting with an exercise physiologist to assist with building muscle post-op.

20.01.2022 Are you about to start working out? It’s important that you fuel for exercise to build muscle. Pre-workout - Fuelling up before your workout helps optimise your potential during training. Inadequacies in fuel or hydration can lead to fatigue during training, reduced speed and endurance, poor concentration, or an upset stomach. Generally, sessions lasting for more than 60 minutes require a carbohydrate rich, easy-to-digest snack 20-30 minutes prior. For example, a banana, low... fat Greek yoghurt, sushi, a jam or honey sandwich on white bread or low-fibre muesli bars. Additionally, ensure you are well hydrated, aiming for at least 2L of water across the day. Stay tuned for our after-workout post!

My favourite strategies recently have been enjoying a herbal tea before bed and doing a couple of yoga poses to help me wind down. I hope that you’ll show up yourself in a meaningful way as you wind down tonight and prepare for the day ahead. Sleep well
