25.01.2022 "A picture says a thousand words". Our beautiful golf course Saturday 11th April 2020.

25.01.2022 The 2020 Mixed Foursomes Championships has been deferred to a date to be advised. With all the disruption caused by Covid 19, Golf NSW has rescheduled the semi final of our Major Pennant clash to home and away games that unfortunately overlap with the running of the Mixed Foursomes Championships. Playing Major Pennants is considered the pinnacle of our representative calendar and the Club has thought it best that our Pennant Representatives not miss out on playing the Mixed... Foursomes Championships. We do apologise for the late notice but once the request was made to defer we had no hesitation and thought it the best for all concerned. The booking sheets will be adjusted accordingly first thing Monday morning. Regards Bill Basan General Manager See more

21.01.2022 Another bit of good news that I would like to share with our members and interested parties. Since Wednesday 1st April 2020 when everything changed overnight our Club has traded at a healthy profit in the 19 days to date. Yes we have had to overcome some obstacles and improvise but on reflection I couldn't be happier. Bring on the Championships at the best time of the year. THANKYOU once again for your response & support.... Regards Bill Basan General Manager

20.01.2022 Proud Announcement of a New Membership Category!! The members of Cabramatta Golf Club have accepted the Board of Directors recommendation of a membership category named " Emergency Services Membership". This membership offer is an approximate 30% discount on the current full membership cost of $1,250 pa and is in respect and honour of those special people in our community who don't work a normal shift and are on call whenever the community needs them. (Police, Ambulance, Fir...e Brigade, Rural Fire Services, Army, Navy, Air Force etc.) Further enquiries can be made by contacting me on 0419166778. Regards Bill Basan General Manager See more

20.01.2022 As a result of the recent massive demand to play our beautiful golf course and to the massive restraint on our Clubhouse income we have had to restrict members playing a practice round until after 12.30pm. ie. members are most welcome to play and pay in our daily competition any time prior to 12.30pm however to just walk on and play a practice round must be after 12.30pm. It is obvious that you must report to the pro shop prior to your practice round. Once again thankyou for ...your understanding and patience in these difficult times. Regards Bill Basan General Manager See more

20.01.2022 Hello all! Well if there was ever a year we all need to get together for the annual McAlister/Brown Cabra golf day it's this one! As usual it's the first Friday in December (4th) for a 1.00 start. This year being a tough one for most of us we have decided to keep team fees as low as we can at $400 per team. Extra tickets for dinner will be $30 each as your team entry does not include extra dinner tickets. As usual we will need final numbers by the Friday before the day. Jus...t wanted to get a message out there to all our usual sponsors and teams to save the date and let me know if you can make it. Cheers, Dowdy. See more

20.01.2022 Thursday 1st October 2020 we will be open for trade from 10.30am to approximately 6pm. The return to trade on Thursday's coincides with the return of our Veteran Golfers to Thursday's teeing off at 6.30am. I look forward to hearing all your "woulda, couda, shoulda " stories once again.

19.01.2022 A nice review from last Friday's golf day. First one back after 4 months but it went over well. "Hey Billy, Ryan Crossingham here mate. Thanks again for a great day yesterday. The course, the club & the food were perfect. Thanks again for looking after us it's our intention to make it a yearly event."

19.01.2022 We have a limited number of tee times available for Saturday & Sunday's competitions. Any member of a neighbouring club who is currently closed due to flooding damage is welcome to play at our members price including cart hire. YES CARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND HAVE BEEN OPERATING SINCE WEDNESDAY.

19.01.2022 We'll give it a crack! Commencing 8am Tomorrow we will be commencing a Open Medley Stableford competition to be played Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Obviously social distancing is a must, please don't spoil it for everyone. Commencing at 8am thru to 12 noon. All players commence from the first tee with 5 minute intervals.... Flags must remain in. No rakes in bunkers so preferred lie is permitted. 2 players per group. 1 cart 1 player no sharing cart as you will be asked to leave immediately. Let's show the world how responsible our golfers can be. If your interested contact the pro shop on 96021516 from 7am to advise your intention to play and if you require a freshly sanitized cart. This should reduce the risk of too many people in the Pro Shop. I honestly believe we can do this so let's not disappoint. Regards Bill Basan General Manager. PS. Spread the word amongst your responsible friends. See more

18.01.2022 A picture says a thousand words.

18.01.2022 Just a gentle reminder that our membership fees are due as of today. Kindly contact the office on 96028283 for your payment options. Cabramatta Golf Club will continue to improve the quality of our course, this however requires members renewing their membership. At present we are providing quite a number of different open individual medley events in these straining times. If you decide to play, THANKYOU and remember about the current social distancing rules in place. My regar...ds to every member. Bill Basan General Manager

17.01.2022 A little bit of an update. 10 days after a major renovation our greens are well and truly on the way back to their beautiful best. A couple more days of sunshine, a little bit of rain, getting our greens mowers doing their thing and I'm tipping they will be very healthy and super playable by Saturday 31st October. * Unfortunately due to our current limited staff we will not be extending trade for the NRL grandfinal. Hopefully this notice gives you time to plan your evening wi...th family and friends. * Melbourne Cup Day has been historically booked out with a corporate booking, this year due to Covid the booking has cancelled. Making this into a major positive we will be running our 18 hole individual medley stableford competition and with the assistance from Carlton United Breweries we will be offering the package of $30 per person includes competition, cart hire and 2 draught beers available from the bar on completion of your round. That works out to be 2 free draught beers, thankyou Carlton and thankyou for the donation of an esky full of their product as a prize to be drawn just prior to the running of the Cup. * La Mesa will be open from inside the Clubhouse for all your catering requirements on Melbourne Cup Day. * Last but not least, I'd like to reassure members that the 6 months YTD figures that have just been prepared for next week's Board Meeting are very encouraging, I can't disclose them until the Board sees them but I think even the greatest critic will find it hard to criticise given the continued improvements. I look forward to announcing those figures shortly. Regards Bill Basan See more

17.01.2022 As the Captain of our club I would like to thank our green staff led by course superintendent Steve Kazarinski for there efforts over the past month for getting our course in sensational condition for our championships and I think tomorrow it will be at its Finest Plus all the other volunteers and bar/ course workers , good luck to everyone that is contention for there respective grades and everyone that is playing as well , It makes me proud to be the captain of our great club

17.01.2022 Our beautiful golf course is now open 7 days per week to the members and public from 7am. Please ring the pro shop on 96021516 for available times. We are currently conducting a Open Medley Stableford Competition every day except Saturdays so members, visitors & ladies can compete and enjoy. Regards Bill Basan... General Manager See more

16.01.2022 C 19th March 2020 Dear Members We enjoy golf as much as anyone, here at Cabra we also appreciate our mates we play with and understand the importance of looking after one another. So, for now it is business as usual at Cabramatta Golf Club unless otherwise advised by the relevant authorities. We will be increasing our current standards of cleanliness including the following guidelines until further notice. It is likely these strategies will be updated as the situation ev...olves. Health We respectfully ask members and visitors to NOT attend the clubhouse or play golf if any of the following applies to you: You have any cold or flu symptoms, You have had contact in the past 14 days with any person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. At the Clubhouse or during play: Minimization of direct physical interaction with others. For example, do not shake hands, kiss and try and keep a distance of 1.5m from others, I know this is hard to do when sharing a cart, common sense must prevail, if you are concerned do not share. Regularly wash hands and do not rub your face. Where possible leave the flag stick in or ensure you are wearing your glove when removing, this includes bunker rakes, and practice putting flag sticks. If you need to cough or sneeze, it’s time to dab and sneeze into your arm not into your hands. Where possible pay via your card/pay wave not coins. Please leave the keys in carts and we will clean the carts after use. Ensure all rubbish is removed from the cart and placed in the bins provided. We will still have food and drinks service until advised otherwise, so please do not hesitate to come in for a social drink and feed, life must go on. The above recommendations are based on information from Golf Australia and are to be used as a guide only. Please also see the NSW Department of Health and Human Services webpage for further information. If there are any questions, please contact the GM or any members of the board. Thankyou Ray Wilson Club President

16.01.2022 We'll it's back on tomorrow and Friday our daily Open Individual Medley Stableford. Played in two's it should take no longer than 3 hours for those players that struggle with hectic schedules. Come & enjoy our truly beautiful course.

15.01.2022 Hi All As you are aware Golf is permissible as long as we practice: - SOCIAL DISTANCING AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE AS WELL AS ON THE COURSE.... NO ALCOHOL AND NO GATHERING OF GROUPS. Play is in groups of 2. Your assistance in presenting to the Proshop 5 minutes before your tee time and be ready to tee off is essential. Starting on Wednesday, there will be a Course Marshall who has the authority to run the pace of play. Saturday and Sunday will have a 2 tee start with 2 players in the group. Course Marshall on both 9s. The online booking sheets will be available for 2.30pm today. If you have lost a fairway you will be asked to miss a hole and catch up and if you are not practicing the above rules you will be asked to leave the course and could face further actions. Cabramatta Golf Club is doing all that is possible to keep our course open and we expect you to do the same. Thanking you in advance.

15.01.2022 A bit of Australian golfing royalty playing at Cabra this afternoon. Welcome Peter Lonard.

14.01.2022 After consultation with local authorities we have eased our 100% members only policy. Effective today Friday 17th July 2020 only patrons living inside the 5 km radius of Cabramatta Golf Club will be required to become a social member to gain entry. Once again you will be asked to provide proof of identity to join. Regards Bill Basan... General Manager. See more

14.01.2022 A big shout out to member Peter Seamons who worked tirelessly yesterday (Good Friday) cutting the rough on our ventrac machine. Yes it was Good Friday, yes he was on triple time Penalty rates BUT triple time of zero is zero. Thank you for your selfless donation of your time once again. I might shout you a hamburger and a coffee mate.

13.01.2022 Definitely the most improved golf course in Sydney if not NSW.

13.01.2022 Calling in the heavy duty machinery now. We expect to see a massive development to the 3rd hole now this baby is in operational.

13.01.2022 Hi All The grades for the Foursomes Championships are: A Grade - 0 -12 B Grade - 13 -18... C Grade - 19 - 36 You must play with a member in the same handicap grade to be eligible for the championships. If you play with a member in a different grade, the lower handicap determines the grade for the day event only. E.G. Player 1 plays off 10 and player 2 plays off 18 the grade will be A Grade for the day event only. Please see pages 11 & 14

13.01.2022 Another area fixed up around the 18 th green and it has got water so it will grow. And some people thought it was going to be a bunker

13.01.2022 Week 5 Update Cabramatta Golf Club versus Covid 19. Following a Board of Directors Meeting last night Thursday 30th April 2020 I am happy to advise the following: 1. The booking sheet for the 1st & 2nd rounds of the Club Championship goes live on line at 6pm tonight Friday 1st May. Only players in their correct grades will be eligible able to book. 2. Currently booked in groups of 2 at 6 minute intervals we have made provision if there is a loosening of the 2 player rule to s...ay 3 or 4 the "reserved" spaces will be made available. Who knows what happens in 2 weeks. 3. Wednesday competition bookings will now open at 6pm on the Tuesday 8 days prior and not the current 6am 7 days prior. We believe the consistent 6pm booking time for both the Wednesday and weekend competitions is a lot more user friendly and would suit a greater majority of our members. 4. I can now advise members that our journey into the unknown has resulted in healthy little profit of $22,557 for the first 29 days of April 2020. This takes into account our income from comp fees, social golf & cart hire, plus 16 Job keeper subsidies minus wage bills, golf course expenditure and repair bills. All in all I am very happy with this first month result. To finish off this short report I'd like to thank our golfing patrons for supporting your Club in these uncertain times. Swing slow! Bill Basan General Manager

Some minor alterations might have to be made to maintain social distancing. * Our course marshalls are now a couple of days into operation. 98% of players have been excellent 2% of players have required to be reminded to keep up with the group in front. To the 2% of players please don't find yourself as a frequent offender as you will be placed at the end of the field and hold no one up then. * THANKYOU you for your efforts they have been encouraging and I always believed this was achievable and thus keeping our course open and keeping you playing golf. * I look forward to another update next week. 02.01.2022 Thanks to Andrew Marsh, Steven Kazurinsky and a whole heap of rope I am pleased to advise that golf carts will be in operation Wednesday, 12th August 2020. 30cms preferred lies through the green until futher notice. Another example of our outstanding drainage and the desire of our dedicated staff. Thankyou! 30cm Preferred lie on your fairway only. Preferred lie in bunkers (no rakes)

02.01.2022 Dear Members and Guests It is mandatory that you scan the Service NSW QR Code upon entry into the club and Pro Shop along with normal sign in for the club. Failure to do so will result in entry being denied. Thankyou for your help in keeping everyone safe.

01.01.2022 We are always looking at ways to improve our beautiful golf course. Have you played our newly re designed 10th and 11th holes recently? Have you seen the work currently under way improving our 3rd fairway? Have you seen the growth in the 500 plus new trees planted?

01.01.2022 Unfortunately after reading the 20 pages of guidelines forwarded by Clubs NSW I can not envisage our Club opening whilst under the current requirement that we open only when our caterers are open. Clearly this is impractical. We will in the meantime have our staff trained to the new requirements, measure up our furniture for social distancing and prepare our gaming room with the possible turning off of 12 machines.... We very much look forward to opening as soon as it is viable. Thankyou for your patience and understanding. Should anyone wish further clarification please contact me on 0419166778. Regards Bill Basan

01.01.2022 Just a couple of photo's of the devastation caused by the weekends weather. Our staff have worked tirelessly to produce a quality product for our competitors tomorrow. No bunkers in play, still a couple of trees to remove but all in all I think that rain has improved us.

01.01.2022 We'll that was interesting! Just a couple of observations following our first 2 player to a group competition. 1. Don't book in if you are in doubt of playing. It is very hard to replace a player in a group of two. 2. Speed of play. Keep up with the group in front of you. A group of 2 playing stableford should take not much than 3 hours (If that). It was very noticeable that some players lost a number of holes, this is unacceptable and not fair to the competition behind. Our ...redundant bar staff are being considered to act as course marshalled. 3. Do not arrive to early for your game. To state the obvious please just allow enough time to sort out your clubs, pay for your round in the pro shop, proceed to the tee. There is to be no social gathering. 4. It hurts me to say this but once your game has concluded please confirm your scores with your partner, place the cards in the barrel provided and go home. There is to be no social gathering. Cabramatta Golf Club will continue to strive to provide a safe, healthy environment for our golfers so the enforcement of social distancing is a must. To repeat measures already in place. 1. No touching of the flag stick. 2. Rakes have been removed from bunkers so preferred lies in bunkers is permitted. 3. One sanitized motorised cart per person, no sharing permitted. 4. The Clubs results/ booking terminals have been switched off. Book online & place cards in barrel. 5. The Clubs ball washers have been placed out of action. 6. Sand buckets have been sanitized, perhaps take your bucket home with you and return with it next time you play. It is intended to have 2 weeks of booking sheets available at any given time so please be patient, a lot has occurred in the past week and things are changing almost daily. Finally a gentle reminder that the Club is now operating daily competitions, that being a members individual stableford on Saturdays with Open Individual Medley Stableford events on the other 6 days. Regards Bill Basan SLOW PLAY IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

01.01.2022 Given good weather we should be seeing a very different look to our 3rd hole. Allowing some time for the fill to settle we intend to turf in early September so come mid October the 3rd hole will rise to another level.
