25.01.2022 Selling your home? Have you checked your window and sliding door tracks.... Are they like the before photo? If so, it will be noticed by buyers OR they think the house somehow looks tired or dirty. Clean your tracks, it makes a difference. Here I have cleaned and sprayed with track lubricant, so the doors open effortlessly. If they are worn out and beyond a clean and lube, I have a guy on my books, who specialises in bringing door tracks back to new. These are the little things that will make a difference to your selling price #realestate #sellinghomes #clean #declutter #doortracks #windows #makeyourhomeshine www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ mb: 0415 951 501 Instagram: delcutter angel

25.01.2022 Another tidy tip.... Got to the top of the stairs & forgot to bring your stuff up... Buggar!! People who live with stairs are all to familiar with this? Right? How not to forget. I put things at the bottom of the stairs, which I intend to take upstairs, but I dont want to go up yet... When I do head up, I have to walk past my stuff, and I pick it up and bring it along.... Same other way around... Many less "buggar" moments... give it go! www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ Instagram: DeclutterAngelBrisbane Mb: 0415 951 501

24.01.2022 Staging your house for sale? Don't forget to plump up your decorative cushions. Your final preparations before "open house" can make all the difference in a sale. People are drawn to beauty and perfection. Comfy looking is ok but not for open house day. Why do shops stage their wares? To entice you to buy.... How? Place cushion flat, punch in the sides, position into place and karate chop the top centre but not with too much gusto! Happy pillow plumping ... #realestate #staging #openhouse #housesale #perfect #beautiful #entice #clean #spotless #perfection www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ Instagram: Declutter Angel Brisbane Mb: 0415 951 501

24.01.2022 Number 1 Question I hear How do I keep things in order?? 1: Reduce and minimise what you have. we all have far too much stuff. 2: You must have a place for everything, if you dont have a place, you have too much... Back to No 1. 3: When you have finished using that item, return it to its place, every single time.. Yes! Every single time... Its that simple From the blog: www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ Instagram: declutterangelbrisbane Mb 0415 951 501

24.01.2022 Yes I paint feature walls and hang wallpaper too. This hallway was nondescript and I wanted to transform it into a "wow" space. I painted the trims "Dulux Whisper White" and the feature wall "Dulux Black Caviar" and then hung black and white art work. A little bold but definitely not nondescript. Its now a hallway that holds its own. BB Bespoke Feature Wall Specialist t/a Declutter Angel Instagram: Declutter Angel Brisbane Mb 0415 951 501

24.01.2022 No room at all on this little boys desk to build lego! Cluttered and full of stuff. We cleared the space, threw out or put away most of the stuff on his desk and its now his designated lego build space... I know mums love to interior decorate BUT a little boy usually isnt interested in art work so I suggested we move the canvas and put some shelves up to display his finished lego pieces and buy some plastic tubs for lego bits and pieces. Then its a workable space and he can showcase his finished work rather than a canvas which he totally was not interested in....

21.01.2022 Selling your home? This kitchen needed a little cleaning and clearing. Potential buyers look in your cupboards to see how much storage there is. If your cupboards are full of stuff, pack half away in storage, clean out your cupboards and replace the remaining things in order... So when potential buyers look in your cupboards they say "ohhhh lots of storage & new" rather than "dusty and not much room here... next" Need help getting your house sale ready... 17.01.2022 Following on from my two posts concerning teaching 2-3 year old's and 4-5 year old children tidy skills, we are now ready to add more tasks for 6-7 year old's. If you were again consistent, didn't sabotage the process by "helping or micro managing" your little ones, everything they learnt over the past 4 years is now second nature, automatic and they are becoming a productive and happy part of the family unit... Now on to 6-7 year old's. In your child's room you are now ready...Continue reading

17.01.2022 Want to be a millionaire? Make your bed every morning ... According to Socio-Economist Randall Bell, one of the habits of millionaires is to make your bed everyday. It gets you going for the day, puts you into a productive mind set. Now making millions and your bed has more to do with keeping a schedule of tasks in order, being hyper focused, clear minded and keeping your emotions in check. Your bedroom is your sanctuary, and a decluttered space is proved to reduce stress.... Clutter leads to higher levels of stress. Keep your bedroom simple, clean, not too many decorative pillows, who has time to fuss with that everyday. The photo is not a perfectly made bed but its inviting, clean and simple. So if you cant see your bed for pillows, throws, fluffly toys etc.. simplify so you can make your bed in no time. Physical clutter is often a representation of emotional clutter that only adds to a stressful situation. So, not only does making your bed make it look more inviting when you're ready to hit the hay, but the habit helps declutter your space and mind... Then you can focus on making your millions www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ Instagram: declutterangelbrisbane Mb: 0415 951 501

16.01.2022 I want you to close your eyes and picture your perfect home. Walking through the front door and there before you is your living room..........

15.01.2022 Isolation is the perfect time to declutter. I have just finished cleaning my bedroom over 4 days (a few hours each day), removed everything from cupboards and wardrobes, checked all clothing - keep or out, dusted and polished, moved furniture (gets dusty under there!) cleaned windows and mirrors, washed the curtains and more, every little nook and cranny spotless! Just looking at my bedroom from my doorway is sooooo satisfying! Watch Netflix tonight, get moving today!!!

15.01.2022 Where do you put your shoes? The best location for shoe storage is in a hallway near the front door or garage, somewhere where you enter the house... This is my collection of shoes and I had a storage system in the garage built. Make sure that the shelves are adjustable for different height shoes and boots. Make sure the width is long enough to fit the shoes in. I also had sliding doors with a mirror fitted so I can check my entire outfit before I get into my car.... When I get home, I pop off my shoes and straight in the cupboard which keeps dirt from the street off my floors too. I would love to see your shoe system photos as all systems inspire. 14.01.2022 To my Clients and Community My mission is to help people be the happiest versions of themselves. Amid rising COVID-19 concerns, my top priority remains the well being of my community, that's you, my customer and the wider community. At this time of uncertainty, I am thinking deeply about my responsibility and I am closely monitoring the advice of the World Health Organisation, to make sure I am doing everything to protect and care for my community and clients, I am pausing al...l appointments however I will take calls and emails from home so stay connected. 13.01.2022 Sleep yourself happy Previously I have given out a few #tips on how to make your bedroom your #sanctity. Lose the multitude of decorative pillows, a few is fine, airing your #bed, keeping your room #clutter free and #clean etc.... #Sleep is the time to re-energise your body, your mind and the space in which you do that, should be a #blissful one.... Feeling #tired can make us irritable and #impatient. Sleep deprivation also increases our #stress levels, risk of #depression ...and lowers our libido. Conversely getting seven to nine hours rest a night boosts our #immunity, productivity, motivation and memory and helps #stabilise our #emotions. One study found that people who dont get enough sleep are more likely to experience repetitive #negative thoughts. Another study found sleep-deprived people are worse at gauging subtle emotions such as #happiness or #sadness in others making them less able to get along with them, and therefore become #alienated. Your bedroom space should say "...I'm #calm, I'm #inviting, I'm comfortable and clean, crisp linen and no clutter. Clutter, #mess, dirt and #smelly simply provokes the senses... Your bedroom should softly say "come on in, it's #devine".... You walk in and give a big sigh of release in your beautiful sanctuary, let the day go and drift off.... www.delcutterangel.com.au/blog/ Instagram: declutter angel brisbane Mb: 0415 951 501

12.01.2022 Picking up from last week when I spoke about assigning work for your child, or children and making them responsible for the work. Tasks can include things like washing or stacking the dishwasher, tidying their room, putting clothes in the hamper and teaching them to unroll socks and turn clothes inside out or outside in, unbuttoning the shirts before tossing into the hamper. Lets start with the little ones and tasks for your child to take part in. Chores for Ages 2 to 3 year...s Toddlers can assist in some simple chores around the house. After they are done playing with all their toys, ask them to put their toys in their toy box. Little ones can even help to put all their dirty clothes in the hamper and put their little shoes away! Please don't think you are doing them harm. You are teaching them life skills, the value of taking care of their belongings and respecting their home.... And please be consistent, every day, every week, until the age 4 when we will add more tasks. By then, the little ones are putting their toys away, putting their dirty clothes in the hamper and their shoes away without being told... Can this utopia be true! yes it can.... just be consistent. Any questions please feel free to ask me and I will try to assist you. This is not about perfection, this is about teaching tidy skills. 10.01.2022 What does being "minimalist" mean? Living with less material items. People tend to think this will make life empty and deprive. In fact, the opposite will happen. It will bring into your life what is important and add value.... You will attain a sense a freedom. We all collect things, clothes, shoes, books, the list is endless. I am very organised and I have less stuff than most people, but I still think I have too much and its an on-going clearing process. If you don't use it, and if you havn't used it for 6 months, get rid of it. You wont miss it and the feeling of freedom will be much more intoxicating than any purchase or having whatever it is, sitting there. For all the baggers out there and the people who express themselves through what they have or what they have purchased..... dont knock it until you have tried it first, and only then will you realise you were trapped in the consumer cycle. But then what? you say... The money you have will bring you freedom and a life you can enjoy without consuming. Imagine living in a home you own outright, plenty of cash for that rainy day or a holiday or whatever you may "need" without the burden of debt over your head..... Imagine not having to work 9 to 5 every day but doing what you enjoy... Imagine that freedom..... www.declutterangel.com.au Instagram: Declutter Angel Brisbane Mb: 0415 951 501 (allow 24 hours for response)

10.01.2022 Simplicity is, as simple as you make it.

09.01.2022 Do your kids pick up and put away their things? Yes, no, sometimes? Tidying up and putting away things is a very important skill to learn from an early age. Why? I have worked with clients who kinda taught their kids to tidy. Parents think their kids will do it when they get older. They generally dont and if they do, its a bit of struggle as its not second nature for them. I have clients with kids in their teens, their 20s, some in their 30s and the parent is still pic...Continue reading

09.01.2022 Tips to help your kids keep their room neat & tidy Use every available space for storage. Under-the-bed plastic containers, book shelves, lots of "kid easy access" baskets for bits and pieces and clearly labelled so your kids can easily put things away. When you arrange your kids room, make sure to consider placement of furniture for the best storage options. Place the bookshelf next to the desk or reading area, the toy box or toy storage right next to the play space so every...thing is close to access and to return. Every school holiday term, make some time to sort toys and clothes with your kids. Have three bins, bags, or boxes available for sorting. One for clothes that are outgrown, but want to save; sort and label by size. The second bin is for donating or giveaway, its beautiful to teach your kids to donate things they no longer want or need. The third, to throw out, things that are broken and worn out! Storage in your kids room doesnt have to be boring. Use bright colours, easy for kids to reach shelves, add themed decals and transfers to convey the theme of the room. Purchase furniture that can grow with your kids. With a little bit of effort, your can create an organised and fun space for your kids to enjoy. From the blog: www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ Instagram: declutterangelbrisbane Mb: 0415 951 501

08.01.2022 Imagine a cluttered, messy and/or dirty space. How did it get this way? Not by itself... you did it, you live in it, you made it. The old saying goes "a messy room equals a messy mind". When a room becomes cluttered or messy or dirty, the cause is more than the physical mess. Mess helps distract, mess elevates your stress and keeps you from dealing with the source of your anxiety or stress. When your space is clean, tidy and organised you have no distraction and this can b...e confronting. This is why I do not recommend a family member or friend "help" someone delcutter OR clean up! This is a critical point and a delicate process to reset and start a change and emotional sweep or cleansing. Cleaning up is just a tool, not the final destination. The helper or friend can risk dealing with a major meltdown... do you know how to deal with that, without making it worse? The challenge is to create a lifestyle you want once your space has been put in order to and keep it that way.... www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ Mb 0415 951 501 Instagram: declutterangelbrisbane

06.01.2022 There is nothing permanent, except change...... With our Easter Holidays in isolation, what a perfect time to embrace change and allow yourself to experience something different, you may surprise yourself and like it. Happy Easter

05.01.2022 Following on from my last post concerning teaching 2 to 3 year old children tidy skills, lets move on to 4 to 5 year olds. If you were consistent, didn't sabotage the process by "helping or micro managing" your little 2 to 3 year old;s, they should now be putting their toys away, popping their dirty clothes in the hamper and when they remove their little shoes they pop them in the cupboard, all pretty much without being told or reminded... Its now second nature....So lets add... a little more. 4 to 5 year olds As your child gets older, you can add more tasks. If you have any pets at home, assist them in feeding your family pet. They can even help to wipe up any spills. Little ones should attempt to make their bed, it probably wont be good, but its a start and your creating a habit and practice will improve... and leave it alone, don't adjust it.. Teach them to turn off lights as they leave rooms. Teach them to hang their towel in the bathroom so that it dries. Teach them to open their blinds or curtains in the morning. Get them to help you put their clean clothes away. In the family area, say the kitchen, you may ask the little ones to help you pop cutlery away, its not much but its a start to bigger things and they can bring their plate/bowl & cutlery to the sink and push their chair in. Some people have messaged me and said its too hard and kids should be kids.... You are a parent, its your role to teach your child all the skills that he or she will need to function happily when they are adults. I see the other side and its a difficult process to teach teens and young adults and its usually not successful. I can make headway but they fall back into their normal habits, particularly if the parents fall back into their normal habit too. I see so many tired and stressed parents who are frustrated that their teens or young adult kids cant do anything without pushing them..... And I say them "what do you expect, you never taught them".... What they have done is stunted their development by letting them be kids and just play without any responsibility and now I see young adults that still behave like little kids.... You reap what you sow. www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ instagram: declutter angel brisbane Mb 0415 951 501

03.01.2022 Hit Pause... Clutter, stress, mindless shopping, fast paced life, drinking too much, eating unhealthy, emotional drama.. Is this you? An entire day can go by without us even noticing the small things that make life wonderful. People live a stressful life, their home is cluttered or messy, their work desk looks like a bombs hit it, no one can find anything, no routine, no structure.... A continuous state of mindless hurry and flurry..... Pause!!!... For my clients I created three "pause point" moments for each day. It helps to ground, to consider, to structure and to be mindful. For me... I wake up, I make a coffee and I take it back to bed, I sit there and I spend at least 15 minutes savouring the moment, enjoying my coffee, contemplating and planning my day and above all being thankful for my health, my great life and my happiness. I set my intention and plan the day... No mindless running out the house, have I locked the door, turned off the iron, I'm late etc... Mindful, purposeful, calm and ready for whatever the world throws at me. I have the tools to not react, to think rationally rather than emotionally and get thru my day positively. When I get home is another "pause point". For you it may be afternoon tea time... I put the working day aside, I get changed, I put things away, I plan the remainder of the day & evening and make myself a lovely healthy drink. The business day is done, until tomorrow. Now its my time, I worked for it and now I savour it. Late at night, before bed, or in bed, I consider my day, another "pause point". I didnt get lured by sales, I didnt buy things I dont need, I exercised, I ate healthy, I drank plenty of water, I didnt lose it, I stayed positive, I didnt get hooked into negative drama. I stayed pretty much on track... Im thankful that I was true to myself, my body, my mind... I accomplished most, or all of the things that I wanted to achieve today.... Then I sleep, re-enrergizing and revitalising, tomorrow I do it again... It gets easier, you feel free, light of heart, organized, other peoples drama has less impact and you're happier... Its the greatest gift and you can create it. Make time for three "pause points" in your day to bring you back to the moment and your intent.. It may change your life.... 01.01.2022 Do you air your bed before you make it? During the night we can get hot, sweat, its warm when you get out and its important to air the bed. My parents did this and its a very european thing to do, quite common there, but not so much here. What I do when I get up is I throw the doona over the end of the bed, straighten up the fitted sheet and let the bed cool down whilst I get ready, when I'm done, I make the bed. This way the bed is aired, cool and fresh... So when you get... back into bed, its devine! www.declutterangel.com.au/blog/ Instagram: Declutter Angel Brisbane Mb: 0415 951 501
