24.01.2022 How’s this for an ever so dreamy bedhead ? It has always been beautiful, originally detailed with hand woven rattan, but after many years of love it has worn the signs of ageing. Unfortunately there aren’t too many cane weavers left around these days and the bed’s owner was definitely not ready to say goodbye, so the solution was upholstery. It’s gorgeous curves were a little tricky to cover but our clever craftsmen made it work perfectly. 23.01.2022 Had to share this fabulous Club Chair makeover which has received the tick of approval by its true owner Reupholstering an old beauty like this is more than changing the fabric. These are beautifully made with Australian hardwood frames but over time the jute webs and ties break and the coil springs fall all over the place. Only accomplished Upholsterer’s will actually know how to retie the springs back into place and sew in the thumb roll along the seat. 07.01.2022 I love the hustle and bustle of the upholstery workshop. It is not for the faint hearted. The pace is always intense, and having high standards makes it even more so. The output though is breathtaking. Everyday we have the most stunning pieces finished and freighted out, and now that Everest Design is working in the Artifex workshop, the volume has exploded. I’ll try to do a better job of updating you on some of the exciting projects we do; like this fabulous, vintage Kilim rug sitting snugly in place upon a steel, industrial frame. This piece is now ready for its new life as a bed end seat. Such happy days for this beautiful well worn carpet. This piece has been designed and made for @lindawoodsdesign. The steel work has been custom made to size in-house and the upholstery hand tied in place. Where else could you get furniture made like this?
