14.01.2022 DESIGN OF THE WEEK This weeks design is for a stunning block in Ospray waters over looking parkland and water. The clients required a cost effective single storey BUT with a rumpus room and balcony upstairs to take advantage of the stunning views. Both the upper and ground floors were designed to be interactive to the street and parkland. The rear private court yard has a north aspect but can be linked through the living areas to the front entertaining. The South side of the... home was paved for low upkeep and caravan / trailer parking. A composite build has been chosen with concrete slab timber framed walls with brick parapet walls. 12.01.2022 DESIGN OF THE WEEK This weeks challenge was a corner block in Dawsville with a 4.5 meter slope, views to the East and a garage that had to be located on the Nor...th side. To complicate matters the builder was looking for minimum retaining, a slab on ground solution if possible and a timber frame construction. What the builder did not want was a "cookie cutter" solution. Normally this would be a walk in the park but we were also given a $300 000 to $350 000 budget to play with! Working closely with the builder and after only 2 design amendments the final solution achieved all the design brief requirements and exceeded the builders exceptions. The design was delivered for a very modest design fee and within two weeks. 01.01.2022 So the last couple of months have been rather busy for me. I have been working on an interior design and fit out for a new Japanese themed restaurant and bar in the city, an amazing new modern timber frame and concrete panel home in Fremantle and a stunning set of beachfront terrace homes in Jindalee! I am looking forward to designing a regular house one day!
